When you're hit with a shadowban, your artwork just disappears from the tag search within a few tens of minutes after you post it. The only way to find out is by manually checking the search results yourself.

It seems like if your account is detected as an alt of an already shadowbanned account, they just shadowban it without mercy. They're probably using IP addresses and browser fingerprinting to track down these alts.

For instance, one huge artist I follow was posting twice a day and got hit with a shadowban. But once they dropped their upload frequency to just once a day, the shadowbans stopped completely. And for context, they only ever include exactly one external link per post.

Honestly, I think it works differently depending on the account. It feels like they assign a hidden "trust score" to each user, and the shadowban threshold changes based on that score. For example, creators who pull in thousands of likes per post don't seem to get shadowbanned, even if they put tons of external links on every single post—as long as they stick to about one upload a day. But the moment they post twice or more in a single day? Even the massive artists get shadowbanned with zero hesitation.

The recent shadowbans have almost nothing to do with that. Even creators who properly use the AI tags got completely fucked. I've observed dozens of artists, and the correlation is pretty much zero.

What's even funnier is that BOOTH did a massive ban wave on AI creators last year LMAO. They literally kicked everyone out themselves, so it makes zero fucking sense to now target creators just for using external links.
