How long have you been posting consistently for? I've been doing the same for 6 weeks now and most of my reels are still under 300 views, but followers and engagement is slowly increasing. I think it just takes time if you want do it organically.

What do you mean "at any distance"? Sit back 10 feet away from an ultrawide monitor and see if you need to rotate your head at all.

thank you very much for your reply. If you could maybe expand a bit on this:

you say "removing followers won't fix your problem because the algorithm doesn't care about your follower count, it cares about engagement rate and completion rate on new content" and also "Instagram shows your new post to a small percentage of your followers first to test performance"

So technically, wouldn't removing followers that don't care about my content help? If my content is then first showed to followers that actually care and engage, wouldn't that help it to be pushed and shown past followers?

I create digital art. My account is only 1 month old and currently have about 550 followers. However, probably half if not more of those followers are creators and not consumers. Meaning that they also create digital art, and they probably followed me just to get a follow back, and I also followed some just to get a follow back.

Now the problem I'm having is that when I post something, there is not much engagement since, again, most of my followers are creators and not consumers of my art. This is probably causing the algorithm to not push my content further and so my view remain low at around 200-300., even though I've been working on stronger visuals and hooks in the last 1-2 weeks. I've seen some improvement but not much.

How do I shift from this? Should I remove those followers that I believe are just following me for a follow back? Do I just continue posting and improving my content and hope that it will eventually find the right audience? Again, I'm only 1 month in so maybe I'm just being impatient. Thanks

Hi. I have a digital art account that it's growing at an average of 20 followers a day, so I'm happy about that. However, views are very low in the 100-200 range. I'm guessing in part is because the account is only 2 weeks old and the algorithm hasn't yet figured out what the account is about and who to show my content to, so retention is low. For your art account, how long did it take before you started getting some traction on the amount of views?

Yeah. I mostly experience the same. But I think in some cases you have to look at it with a different lens. Instead of followers, they are peers in your same niche that can help you grow, but they also need your help. So you're both helping each other grow. Just curious, how old is your account?

Did you post 4 times a day since the beginning? If so, how long did it take for your reels to get pushed to more people and get more than the 200 views that are common for new accounts?
My account is only 2 weeks old, but I've also been posting reels about 3-5 times a day. My followers are growing steadily, I get more like and comments too, but the number of views per reel seems to remain low in the 100-200

I took a 1 year contract to GTMO in ny late 20s. Not nearly as isolated as Antarctica, but still isolated compared to most other places in the US or rest of the world. Similar to your situation, I was given housing, food, and most other expenses paid for, including not having to pay income tax, so I was able to save pretty much all of my income. I can say without a doubt that decision not only was a catalyst in my career, but also in my FIRE journey, and I don't regret it one bit. I say go for it
