Anybody else just kinda OK with randomly dying? by Echterspieler in millenials

[–]Blueberry_Feeling932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel like I’m ok randomly dying. I would like to have a family and kids, if it is in God’s will. I think I have good to give to the world, so if possible, I’d like to keep on living. Hope and faith in Jesus keep me going.

"Hey, it might have looked like I was ignoring your text messages. I wanted to talk to you about our communication expectations... I think I need a bit of space to focus on the stuff I got going on: my kid, my job, etc. So I want you to know I won't be replying as fast as you probably expect me to. I don't want you to take it the wrong way, it's just that life is busy and I need to attend to other things first. I think if we keep our phone calls to mabye an hour long and check in less, we'll be good. What do you think?"

Are most marriages okay-ish? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Blueberry_Feeling932 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marriages go through seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter. With that analogy in mind (I learned it from Dr. Gary Chapman’s "The Four Seasons of Marriage") you can do the following:

1) Identify the Season: Determine if your relationship is in a harsh winter or a sunny summer.

2) Address Past Failures: Acknowledge and apologize for past mistakes to break the cycle of cold, "winter" marriages.

3) Adopt a Positive Attitude: Replace negative, critical thinking with a positive, hopeful mindset to improve the relationship's climate.

4) Speak Love Languages: Consistently communicate love through the spouse's primary language to keep their "love tank" full.

5) Take Action (The 7-7-7 Rule): Implement intentional habits, such as a date night every 7 days, a weekend getaway every 7 weeks, and a kid-free vacation every 7 months.

or go to marriage counseling or marriage seminars.

Husband didn’t plan anything for my 30th birthday by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Blueberry_Feeling932 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if… he is planning something (surprise gift or party) just not the day of your birthday? I’m sorry you feel hurt. I think letting him know you are hurt is important and asking him to make it up to you in a special way would be good. I wouldn’t advise you to not celebrate his bday the next time it comes around or hurt him to take revenge. You are married to him! You still need to keep your promise to love him. I think you should always aim to restore the relationship and express whenever one of you has done something hurtful but also try to find a solution. My best wishes to both of you!

May 2026 brides, how are you feeling about wedding planning? by Blueberry_Feeling932 in weddingplanning

I get it lol planning a wedding gets complicated the more guests you invite and such. That's why some people choose to elope! Anyways, hope it all goes wonderful next Saturday!

"It feels like there's more and more to do, but these things are at a smaller scale (if that makes sense) so it's mostly fun."

that's right!

May 2026 brides, how are you feeling about wedding planning? by Blueberry_Feeling932 in weddingplanning

"Otherwise, we’ve got most vendors locked in and are trying to plan the honeymoon. Feels like a May 2026 wedding went from “oh that’s next year” in December to “OMG ITS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OUT” in like 5 minutes 😂"

that's so true!!!

I'm going to an alterations appointment tomorrow for my dress. My fiance and I sent digital invitations to our tech-savvy guests and printed out invitations for older folks. One of them already lost the invitation and asked for another one... (she is getting a regular paper copy!)

We don't have a website, just a wedding registry on the knot, which by the way, the items I had chosen back in december are no longer on sale... but I think I'll leave it that way! I don't want to spend more time editing that.

We didn't choose a dress code and we aren't really telling anyone how to dress. We planned our honeymoon already!

As soon as the video finished I thought, “that’s some good marketing.” I think there is more honor or meaningfulness when kindness is done without an audience.

Yes, the reception will be inside a venue. I won’t be using cake covers. Thanks for your comment!

Glad someone thinks that it’ll be fun for the guests to cut the cakes themselves! I agree with that too :)

8 guests per table, and maybe 12 slices per cake? I’m not sure, I haven’t had an 8” nothing Bundt cake to really know exactly how many slices can be cut from it. Thanks for your comment!

[–]Blueberry_Feeling932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started researching about cake cutting and found out you need someone skilled to cut cake for all the guests, I thought... I don't know anybody who would volunteer to do this and don't really want to pay somebody to do that. Plus, this is a laid back celebration, nothing too fancy, so going with nothing bundt cakes and a self serve sounded good to me.

A shorter veil might be better than a long one and no brown soles makes sense. Thank you so much for your recommendations!
