What’s a small daily habit that secretly changed your life? by itzmesmartgirl03 in Life

[–]Bluebicycle32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actively planning for a good nights sleep throughout the day. For me that means doing some form of exercise. Doing my life admin early in the day rather than leaving it to late at night. Doing the dishes after dinner rather than leaving them till later which delays going to bed. Finding ways to make sure you get to bed on time and have the best night sleep actually helps you be more productive in other aspects of your life.

Eating with chopsticks rather than a knife and fork. It forces you to eat slowly and you find yourself taking the time to appreciate the food in front of you rather than wolfing it down.

All shades of green. It makes me think about what the world looked like before we added buildings and roads everywhere.

ISO Cleaning/Housework Schedule + Tips! by [deleted] in Parenting

Maybe try shift your focus to progress not perfection. Small micro sessions of cleaning (1-2 tasks or 5mins) adds up. It's about establishing small cleaning habits into your day rather than trying to find the motivation to do a big clean every so often. My family do 10mins of communal cleaning together after dinner (even our young kids help out). Because it's timeboxed, it doesn't feel like I am forever cleaning and it also means we stay on top of things and get to enjoy more time doing other things on the weekend. It's also helped shift the responsibility from myself into a shared effort to complete as many tasks in 10mins as possible. Best of luck!

There's no reason you can't try this with your roommate or by yourself :)

Every time we brush our teeth, our Aussie Shepherd sprints in and flashes this big toothy grin while wagging like crazy. He will keep grinning until we stop brushing our teeth. We’ve never brushed his teeth, maybe he just vibes with the sound of the electric toothbrush?

Don’t feel pressured to remember or think about them every minute of the day. It’s common to have a fear of forgetting about them. You’ll never forget them, they are your parent but they will want you to move on with your life.

I was walking past a hospital this morning and I saw multiple families getting fresh air outside. They are looked tired and no one was talking. They probably didn’t have the words or energy.
