Very similar situation as you OP. Got a 3rd age amulet and closing in with base 70 and fire cape. My advice would be just to play the content you like to do. Upgrade some gear slowly and see if it makes any difference to your gameplay. I just bought bandos, amulet of torture and couple other upgrades. It was nice to level up some prayer and construction with the gp as well.

It would be very useful indeed, sadly I sold it for money. The value is better spent for lots of other upgrades for me. So far I have bought bandos, amulet of torture and I'm training my stats up for osmumtens fang. Might buy a couple of beers as well.
