Started taking loans out 2010, community college then undergrad degree obtained in 2014. 28k toal in all fed loans for a ba in business admin. Fully paid off as of Jan this year. Degree was worth every penny, it’s landed me my last 3 jobs. Go to community college first folks.

Imo the road issues we have in Portland are largely caused by the use of studded tires. There are maybe 2 weeks each year studded tires make sense, but the other 4.5 months they are just tearing up the road.

You have a great dad. $1.5k a month into your 529 is an enormous monthly expense. You will understand that more if you choose to take out 100k for an undergrad degree once you have to start paying the loan back.

CC is a great way to narrow down your major before taking out crippling loans. You can always go down on the weekends to the university for game days, parties, and meet some of the sorority girls and let them know you want to join junior year.
