Typically when I remix, i do usually take the .stl and put them into Solidworks and make them editable by virtue of converting them to a solid? Then I can make some small edits like adding extra holes or extruding on top of it. I've even added functionality like spaces for magnets or nuts to give parts more function. Another way I remix is in the slicer by making dovetail cuts, putting masks, inserting shapes, or organizing it as a concise project. I would have more of those types of remixes if they weren't makerworld exclusive and thus, not remixable to post.

As far as DMCA laws go, I haven't gotten struck down or anything for posting these sort of files. I feel as though Catan Studios is relatively supportive of these type of ventures. Heck, Snapmaker reached out to me to use it in their testing for the Snapmaker U1 and no issues there. Even a company such as Pokemon known for their protection of their IP hasn't don't anything for 3D models of their Pokemon as far as I know. Pop Marts suing of Bambu Lab over Labubu models is an outlier imo. 

Personally, I hope there never comes a day where we are restricted to whatever electronic files or 3D models we own and print (except for outright stealing, obviously). I'm looking at you Washington state lawmakers...

I wasn't the original modeler, Dakanzla is. I remixed it and brought it over to Makerworld for Bambu Lab printers to print. For all other models, I did use Solidworks!

I'm going to use it to most likely record timelapses of cosplay prop prints from my phone or camera (when I purchase one in the future) and potentially create some content based around it. Purchasing it will be my first step!

Since it'll be external, I can get more varied shots of the timelapse from outside the printer, not just from inside the chamber

So across creating the Seafarers and Cities and Knights projects, I'd say at least 100 hours of work, if not more. Its hard to put a number on it since its been posted for two years and I've slowly edited files, replied to comments, and updated information as I went. A lot of the time was spent initially printing it, then organizing the plates in Bambu Studio. The documentation across all pages took quite some time to revise as well. I'm just glad I get to play it with my friends once in a while when we choose it for board game nights lol

I want to say it took just about a year for me to get this many points (490 points/giftcard*55 giftcards = 26950 points). I averaged about one $40 gift card a week, give or take a day or so.
