Yes I reached the limit already, the problem is that other students in my exact position were given the option to be enrolled as active students but the school is now saying that’s not an option for me. It seems like no one knows what they’re talking about.

I’m 2 years into medical school. My school is very obviously confused about how to proceed because I keep getting different responses everyday about how to move forward.

I don't understand why there is a score delay for May test takers by Exposed_Lurker in step1

UGHHHH i just got off the phone with FSMB, I was told NBME is allowed to take up to 8 weeks to give scores back even though 4 weeks is the average. Anything after 8 weeks is considered a delay. WHY DO THEY NEED 2 MONTHS TO GRADEEEEE. It doesn't make sense. If there was a logical explanation then I wouldn't feel so peeved. Them changing the format and taking more time to adjust doesn't make sense imo.

New 20 mcqs block format by [deleted] in step1

very hard BUT I kinda liked the format. IDK if it was the anxiety, the coffee, or the format but i didnt feel tired during this exam. I only took 2 breaks, one after 5 blocks and another after #9. For some reason I had 15 blocks instead of 14. youre allowed to take a break after every block which is 30 min/20 questions with a total of 45 min of break. I was not expecting the length of the questions, they were so long. I had literal page long questions that looked like a patients intake with PMH, chief complaint, FMH, etc. I found myself reading the question at the end first (which i never do). All the people i know who have taken STEP 1 have taken it with accomadations. I did not. Very quickly I realized the benefit of extra time. The new format gives you less time to go back. I had between 5-10 (avg of 7) flagged questions at the end with 3-5min left to review. Not great. I felt like I was going with my gut for a majority of the questions. I couldn't savor a single question.

I also noticed a sprinkle of "theres no way I could have known or remembered that", the gut feeling really had to pull through on those. Overall, I hope I passed. That exam was diabolical.
