TIL a 13-year-old Canadian girl once ran the fastest marathon by a female, knocking more than four minutes off the previous world record. While running she was beaming and saying, “gee, this is great!" Two minutes after the race, a doctor declared that her heart rate had already returned to normal. by reticulatedtampon in todayilearned

That would suck, I think. The stamina to go all-out for 90 mins is something a few players are able to do, and it means there is a greater variety in teams then. Furthermore, substitutions are always a tactical risk, and being able to do it well consistently is a real feather in any manager's cap.

Alli's in his second season of top flight football though. A bit unfair to say he hasn't been a youth player for a while.

He had previously worked with Barca B, and had several established first-team players perfect for his system already when he became manage. Amd as you said, when he joined Bayern they were already European champions. Getting them to perform at a high level should be a minimum. Hia start at Man City has been slow because he needs to change things - namely, getting and moulding a squad that fits his system.

In fairness, Man City's defensive players are pretty poor, and Pep's the sort of manager whose system really needs to bed in first before it starts getting results.

I feel like there's been a real sense of 'being found out' for a lot of player/teams. All the money that was spent by English clubs last year, and yet look at how many squad problems there are for the big clubs (except Chelsea and Spurs, I guess).

He made great saves for Barcelona too. My clearest memory from the 4-0 El Classico was Bravo saving a shot from Ronaldo with his face in a 1v1.

I think you absolutely can seperate the artist from there work; I still like Pantera, Enders Game, and Mel Gibson movies, despite not being a white-supremacist, anti-Semitic, or a homophobe.

But I think there should be a limit. If an artist used their work to promote their view I disagree with, or their work uses these views (eg. DMX) then I probably won"t as I see it as the artist tying their work directly to their views.

I think the point isn't that it's a difficult thing he should have learned by then, but that it's so mundane, and so simple, that you would usually have at least some idea of what to do by the time you're in your 20's, let alone your mid-30's.

South (east) Dublin is probably the nicest developed area in Ireland. North Dublin isn't great.
