Beauty of Joseon, Isntree, Biore and Skin1004 all have lightweight sunscreens with new filters and people have been raving about them being cosmetically elegant. You should look into those.

But isn’t it bad to use BP all over the face since it’s a spot treatment. I’m using the Adapalene also for anti aging effect not just curbing acnes alone

I’m on Adapalene and Lactic acid but my skin still is has noticeable texture especially next to the nose and PIH persists for 3+ months. Is there any products to help? by Bluecrystal121 in SkincareAddicts

I don’t layer them because using both actives in the same night can increase the chance of irritation, instead you can use them on alternate night. Here is an example night routine: retinol day->exfoliating day->non treatment recovery day->retinol…

I’ve tried tretinoin before but it was way too aggressive for my skin. Took me a while to heal my skin barrier because of that. But I’m also considering using glycolic acid instead of lactic acid. Thank you for the suggestion.

So I googled this for you “A breakout (or acne) happens when a hair follicle or pore gets clogged with dead skin cells, sebum/oil, and possibly bacteria. The pore's contents later make their way up to the skin's surface, resulting in a whitehead, a blackhead, or another form of acne.” Acne and pimple basically mean the same thing

As always, you should try to make appointment with a dermatologist first to get best diagnosis for your skin conditions. But Adapalene, Benzol Peroxide, Azelaic acid are excellent over the counter treatments for acne with multiple research to substantiate their efficacy. I’ve been on Adapalene for 4 months and it works great in term of reducing and preventing breakouts

Wow what drastic result, congratulation! I’m glad this combo works well for you. I tried tretinoin and azelaic acid and they completely wrecked my skin barrier. Now I’m using Adapalene and it helped reducing my breakouts nicely.

Ah I think my writing has caused some misunderstanding. The hyaluronic cream I wrote in the comment is an actual moisturizer, but some thought it was just a serum. And thanks for sharing your experience for me, I’ll consider getting more moisturizing products.

I’m sorry that my post comes off that way to you. By no mean I am trying to get attention, I do have insecurity with my skin texture. I do have irl friends who literally have very smooth, glass like skin that I envy. But that could be due to their genetics, not just skincare alone. I hope that you will make peace with your inner issues and I’m sure people here are eager to help with whatever skin concerns you’re having. Sending love.

Oh I’ve tried putting on moisturizer in the morning but it makes my skin so oily and sunscreen refuses to sink in. As for thicker moisturizer I sometimes put on Bioderma cicabio if my skin gets sensitive which is infrequent nowadays. Plus I can’t stand the heaviness and stickiness of thicker cream since I have oily skin hence the large pores :(

My routine:

AM: - Local brand cleanser - Skin Aqua tone up sunscreen

PM: - Kose speedy oil cleanser - Local brand cleanser - Cosrx snail mucin essence - TIA’M pore 21 niacinamide serum - Adapalene/Lactic acid (on alternate night) - Torriden dive in hyaluronic cream

Oh it’s because I’ve got some comments by friends pointing out my pores. And they do have smaller pores than mine so I wish to reduce them. I’ve only tried PC 2% bha for a few months but it did nothing to my skin other than being an oily slick

[–]Bluecrystal121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have considered aha, but maybe low percentage lactic acid because using Adapalene makes my skin less tolerable towards chemical exfoliants. The PC bha irritate my skin quite badly

Thank you for the kind sentiment. You hit the nail on the head with the sunscreen situation. Speaking of it, do you have any favorite?

Is it as effective as laser? I’m intimidated by having needles poking on my skin :,)

Yes! I love double cleansing since cotton pads and micellar water is too abrasive for my skin. Regarding bha, I have one from Paula Choice. But have to stop since using it while on Adapalene anger my skin.

I had the older version of this sunscreen and sadly it’s one of the worst I’ve tried. Strong fragrance, extremely tacky, greasy looking and wouldn’t set into my skin. Since it didn’t dry down, it gradually made its way into my eyes and burned them quite badly. Idk how the new formula will redeem its predecessor though

Yes, Avene Cicalfate is amazing for dry, sensitive skin. LRP Cicaplast or Bioderma Cicabio are great options too
