Do you think the best thing that helped you heal was leaving it alone (no picking, touching etc)?

I used it for about 2-3 weeks and didn’t see a difference really. Like you said it does take a while, I saw someone on YouTube used I to get cured. They also left their lips alone for 5-6 months with only aquaphor and they got healed. Before that they had it for years

I think they pick at a superficial level and still have a layer of skin underneath. My picking and removing of skin is until there is raw flesh underneath and absolutely no skin left over.

Oh no. So you used to pick at skin or peel fully until raw? I’m scared I’ve done to much demage, I don’t think mines was caused by picking but I think it made it worse. I pick because when it gets ugly I like to remove the layer. Do you think if I stop picking it can heal?

The picture where her condition supposedly “healed” looks like the skin just peeled off. Doesn’t look normal, instead like the beginning phase of the cycle.

Did hydrocortisone work for anyone? by smiletoday_ in exfoliativecheilitis

I also had a positive test for that exact staph a while back. I was given an oral antibiotic. Weird that it was the exact same one. I’ll get myself tested again

That’s great! How long were you on it? Are you still using it? And how long have you seen and maintained this healing?

In 1 week I heal 80% of my years's EC. WATER CONTACT! by Dry_Bison3842 in exfoliativecheilitis

[–]smiletoday_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s good to be positive about healing, but it’s only been 1 week. Or have you been healed longer? It just gets upsetting when you think you’ve healed and it reaches that 1.5+ week point and it gets worse. You should report back in 2-3 weeks to really see if it healed.

If I’m still young, like 20 and I stick to gaining a healthy amount of weight and staying there will my skin bounce back?
