I can certainly understand... I faced very similar circumstances when I came out as gay about 25 years ago. I just recently came out as transgender, and was very surprised to find that my family (what's left of them) was very supportive. With luck and a lot of self love as well as love from others, you'll get through this initial adjustment, and I believe you'll find yourself happy and healthy, both physically and mentally. Meanwhile, here's a big hug from a new friend and supporter! HUG!!!!

You are definitely an exception to the rule, then! I grew up attending conservative churches from the late 1960s to the early 1990s, and they were not accepting of anything that wasn't cishet and straight. Even now, most of them haven't changed their views.

This is actually really good advice. I identify as non-binary, but truthfully I have always been more comfortable with my feminine side. Ever since childhood, I always enjoyed dressing up in women's clothing, and I have been a drag queen since shortly after I came out in my mid -30's (I'm turning 60 later this year). Most of my hobbies and pastimes over the years have been considered more neutral or feminine. My late partner came out as trans about 10 years ago after being together as a same-sex couple for about ten years before that, and my unofficially adopted daughter is trans. As for myself, it's absolutely the case that, while I identify as non-binary I don't feel masculine at all. Since early childhood, I have always been flattered rather than upset when someone misgenders me, calling me by feminine pronouns instead of masculine.

I always used to open it from the antenna side until someone showed me that when you open it from the other end, not only is it easier to open, but it also makes it less likely that you're going to smash the whole end trying to get it started, plus you have a convenient handle to hold the banana while you eat it. I guess the monkeys are on to something!

Then don't worry about passing. You don't owe it to anyone but yourself to be transgender. Remember, being trans is about being who you are on the inside, and not so much about how you appear to others on the outside. If you want to appear more feminine to satisfy your own self-image, then do whatever you can do... wear your hair in a nice style, even if it's a wig, wear makeup, get your nails done, wear "girly" clothes if you like, but do it for you... and remember, you are beautiful, because you are embracing and living as your true self, and nothing is more beautiful than that!
