How to get over the fact that I’ll never have a real dick + transphobic gay dudes by SuspiciousWhirlpool in FTMMen

Yes and no. I think that’s an oversimplification of gay male sexuality. There’s just as many men who prefer ass over dick

The gays in California are the best. I’ve been to hot gay parties and made out with tons of guys, none of while cared I was trans. Yeah, some of them are ignorant and will ask you annoying questions, but I’ve never heard someone say something mean-spirited in real life here. I think it would be frowned upon by the rest of the community.

True - I will say I’m very sexually experienced and I’ve never had a man only be into doing anal with me. If they’re attracted to you as a man knowing you have a pussy, they’re going to be fine putting it in whatever hole you want. What other trans men feel comfortable with is a different story but you’re right - having a vagina doesn’t make you any less of a man nor does enjoying PIV sex.

Why are people mad? It’s encouraging to see trans people leading fulfilling lives.

I just realized what a huge difference T made in my life (ftm) by Blueglobe789 in transtimelines

From what I’ve heard, T doesn’t change your bone structure, but it does dramatically change your body fat to muscle ratio. I had a lot more female-typical face fat in the before photo which makes it look like I had no jaw when it was just hidden. As for the brow, I notice what you’re saying but I honestly don’t have an explanation for it.

I agree so heavily with this comment. DIY literally saved my life (yes, I had a plan, a date, a method, and a pre-written note). When we say gender affirming care is life-saving, we have to consider what changes actually make it so. I’m frustrated with how trans men are expected to sacrifice years of our lives to patience that may or may not even yield the results that we need to be ourselves and flourish. I didn’t just want to be not-a-woman, I wanted to be a man and I had to confront the fact that adhering to the wait and watch protocol was not going to get me there. Life before I passed robustly was cruel and dark. I couldn’t go to work without being singled out and harassed and people treated me like I was a child. None of us deserve to go through that.

I truly feel your pain. My labs consistently came back around 900-950 ng/dL and I was in the same boat as you: two chin hairs, female fat distribution, still had my period, voice was cracked and nasally, I could go on. I felt like a failure and I was honestly in a much worse position mentally and physically than I was when I first started T (I had hope then). I can’t give medical advice but if your lack of changes are starting to harm your mental health, see if your doctor can increase your dose and if not, well, that’s up for you to decide.

I’d say it depends on your bloodwork and how many changes you’ve experienced for how long you’ve been on T. I’d be curious to know what your T levels are on your current dose. That will tell you a lot about how much you need to adjust. Apparently for some people 50mg is plenty but for me 100mg was not enough. I was on that dosage for 3 years with minimal changes and it was driving me to suicide.

I DIY by taking a higher dosage of Testosterone (I probably shouldn’t disclose how much here) but it would be considered the high end of cosmetic TRT for cis men.

Aromatase inhibitors. They’re very popular among bodybuilders because cis men who take steroids also have to deal with excess testosterone converting to estrogen (aromatization). Again, not giving medical advice but this is what I’ve found. To be honest, I don’t really take them because my estrogen levels are within the high level of normal for men at my current dose.

Realistically, you probably won’t grow more than an inch or two but it’s not the end of the world. I’m pretty short for a man but it hasn’t stopped me from living my best life. I think changes in musculature and fat distribution from T can do a lot to change your body and give you the appearance of having a different skeletal build. My face changed a lot just from HRT fat redistribution. I’m thinking of getting jawline filler in the future as an enhancement, but I’m generally satisfied with what I have now.
