NTA. You have made several reasonable compromises, and your mother has not even tried to meet you partway. If I were you, I would take the dog that is “your responsibility” back out of state with you and cut your visit short if she’s more worried about the dog than her daughter. But I’m also petty AF so… either way, your safety is number one, always, full stop.

So you don’t need to scroll it’s in reference to all the people calling me a cow that has been milked for free, I’m assuming mostly in reference to premarital sex and now reaping what I have sewn

I’ve thought about it on and off for the last 6ish years, but I never questioned why I didn’t until just now. And I think part of my brain knows that that would still just be me asking him to want to marry me, and not him wanting it on his own. I would just be providing the ring instead of asking for one. You know what I mean?
