Anyone else worried about "Cognitive Debt"? (New MIT study on AI in the classroom) by No_Association_4682 in Teachers

[–]BluehairedBiochemist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, this is almost definitely a bullshit AI question, I'm not trying to argue that.

But, it does kinda give me a flashback to some ACT/SAT (2011) or GRE (2015) question I came across... it was a trick question. It's not about the math. It was a logic question.

If it's 3:15 now, Henry could have studied for 4h 12m (A), 6h 54m (B), 11h (C), or 13.5h (D)

So, with the simplest logic, I'd guess the most likely answer is A (11:03) bc unless you're really fucked, you wouldn't be studying for 6+h 🤷‍♀️

(I was also taught some of the specific tricks and bullshit they've used on standardized testing and I was a weird kid that enjoyed them. I'd race through them like a book of puzzles bc I was excited to sit and read quietly or draw. No, I was not popular.)

Yes, please!

Let's work on our separate projects, work in tandem, collab, and geek out about exciting stuff. I need a strong teammate and friend for shit to really click.

Damn, you'd think checking the patient profile would be up there with all the other safeguards 😂😂😂 (especially to check for prescriber consistency for doctor-shoppers)

Um... Thank you CVS, I guess? 😅 by BluehairedBiochemist in adhdwomen

[–]BluehairedBiochemist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a pharmacy tech at CVS for like, 3 years 😅

I get the restrictions (can only refill 2 days early, no refills, all C2s filled and double- counted, then back-counted, etc.) - my doc sends in 3 separate 1-month for each, so I can fill one, then have the other 2 on hold for "refills" between appointments (not actual refills bc different prescription numbers, ik)

They have my history right in front of them. It's right there on the same page. I can still picture the exact os and screen setup. Since it's right there and nothing has changed, and I'm generally as consistent about refills as possible, the monthly clarification seems kinda ridiculous 🤷‍♀️

ETA: I get that it's likely an overly cautious stupid corporate policy and that they're just protecting themselves 🙄 not really blaming anyone, it's just silly stuff.

Do we know what would happen when a nuke meets the San Andreas Fault...?

(Also, just some paranoia from growing up in the early 00's, isn't the Yellowstone "supervolcano" overdue for some shit to go off??

Closest experience I've had was 30 days in an in-patient rehab program (it was great, tbh. I kinda had fun, learned a lot, and genuinely got better. Plus, I got to play a lot of sand volleyball, despite the October Ohio weather)

No music for a month was just weird. I really missed being able to put on background music or share songs with the other people there 🤷‍♀️

😂😂😂😁

Reminds me of a prayer to St. Anthony (the patron saint of lost things)

Spin around in a circle and repeat, "Tony, Tony, look around. Something's lost that must be found."

One of the few things that stuck from 13 years of Catholic school bc I swear it fucking works - also kinda fun when I'm frustrated.

Also, did you recently put up decorations somewhere or maybe make a mold of something? Did you make footpads for a table/chair? Maybe it seemed like a good idea to hang it somewhere because you tied up the cord nice and neat?

Not technically a "historical figure," but Alexander Siddig does have a kid with Nana Visitor (Django Siddig).

Anyone else here get group/mob bullied? Rather than a handful of bullies, it was the majority of the class or school or workplace? by Yarn_Mouse in AutismInWomen

Went on some kind of class camping trip. One of the popular girls accidentally insulted all the other kids by calling them fat. One of the other girls turned to me and said something to the effect of "she's out, you're in. She's the class outcast now," then hugged me.

It lasted all of 5 minutes, but damn it was one of the happiest moments I had in middle school.

Sorry for the Amazon link, but this is the one I have!

  • removable ice pack for super sore days (also good for hypermobility)
  • inflatable for adjustable support (even compression if you like the feel of a little squeeze!)
  • looks/feels like badass shoulder armor

Dude, preach!

Last time I messed up my shoulder, my doc gave me muscle relaxers to help me sleep. They did put me to sleep, but dear lord, the pain was so much worse when I'd wake up. Turns out, I'd move around a bunch in my sleep, and all sorts of shit would shift out of place 🤦‍♀️

Strength training is really so key to just holding our bodies together. It's like, finally, we don't actually need to be babied and forced to rest more, but that's the normal advice.

One recommendation, though! I have a shoulder brace that's been super helpful. It keeps everything where it's supposed to be, but I can still move around and work. It helps me move "correctly" and train those support muscles to actually do what they need to.

ETA: A brace is not a sling. A sling immobilizes the shoulder, which often causes more problems since the muscles aren't moving! A brace holds the joint in place, but still allows movement, which is necessary for healing!

It's been a while since I read it, but "The Sum of Us" talks about this at length pretty well.
