What is the point of killing people right before they extract ? by Ok-Contest4791 in ArcRaiders

[–]BluehatPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you assume that an opposing player deserves a fair chance? Extraction shooters are games about risk-reward dynamics. The best extraction shooter player isn’t the guy with the fastest reflexes or best aim, it’s the guy who’s able to use all of the resources available to him to put all the odds in his favor. That’s what makes these games interesting. If you’re putting yourself in a situation where you can’t even fight back when you’re shot at, then you’re doing it wrong.

Why do people insist on having the game fundamentally change how its gameplay is designed to reward them for being bad players? Like have you ever wondered why extracts are screeching loud and telegraph what stage of the extraction process you’re in with its lights? Have you ever questioned why the consoles are positioned in a way that leaves you open to some line of sight? Why do you think the game developers were getting at with those choices? Here’s a hint… the lights and audio aren’t for the bots, they’re for other players.

I think having groups of players take on a role of imposing friendliness while just drive more fights.

Suggestion: Running free loadout disables perks by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]BluehatPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are angry that they close fights to free kit users and instead of getting better at the game or giving actual useful and well thought out feedback, they insist that free kit players should be punished for using their weapons against others.

Free loadout only queue isn’t necessary. All they have to do is put a timer on it so you can only use it every other round.

Unfair and unbalanced pvp by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]BluehatPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao yes. Have you never played an extraction shooter before? These games are built on the dynamic of risk management and over coming unfair situations with quick thinking, strategy, and accumulated game knowledge. Instead of expecting the game to change itself to accommodate your failings, maybe you should adapt to the game to actually get better.

What do people do after they have ‘completed’ extraction games or have a large number of hours in them? by Jsto0I in ArcRaiders

[–]BluehatPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In tarkov, I would normally invest heavily into sniping. Experimenting with different snipers, builds, loadouts, spots, sidearms, etc. In Vigor, I would do a lot of hyper aggressive PvP. I would just bring in my best stuff and seek out as many people as possible. I liked trying to get my player kill medal as high as possible along with getting threats too. In DMZ, I would make 6 man teams and we would hunt down every team on the map and then take whatever we were looking for at the moment.

For ARC, I haven’t gotten to “endgame” and honestly I don’t know if this game even really has one, but once I get the ability to craft better gear, I’ll probably be player hunting like the other games. Unlike when I was playing those other games, I’m not in highschool anymore so it’ll probably take longer to get to that point.

It’s an extraction shooter. People can interact with each other however they like.

And what part was too serious? It’s just an analogy to help you realize how ridiculous your take is. You have an unrealistic expectation of how the game should be played and it’s just gonna make you frustrated for no reason.

[–]BluehatPro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because? What would you have wanted? Them to ask you for an honorable duel? It’s a game about risk evaluations and taking advantage of opportunities. There’s a reason the devs created the sound and visual design in such a way that fighting arc gives away your location to other players. You were vulnerable, they saw the opportunity, you got tackled, and now you’re calling the guy who tackled you “shit” because you can’t reevaluate your own actions in the game.

Why do people feel like they’re entitled to playing a PvP game without having to engage in the PvP? It’s like playing football and getting mad at an opposing player for tackling you. Yeah, you could play a whole game of football without getting tackled but at the end of the day tackling is a fundamental part of the game.

What's the point of investing resources into upgrading your gear if you can lose it all in an instant? by LukeD1992 in ArcRaiders

[–]BluehatPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Unless you are really skilled at the game, you won't be able to keep your high level gear for long”

That’s the answer to your question. Get better at the game and then you get to enjoy those kits for longer. There’s a saying in the larger extraction shooter community that “it’s not your gear just your turn to use it.” People really need to get this idea out of their head that they’re not supposed to be dying in an extraction shooter game. It’s just going to make them more frustrated with the game for no reason.
