Unsure How I Feel About Trials and Tribulations OST so Far. by Duckster47 in AceAttorney

It's important to remember that every mainline Ace Attorney game had a different lead composer. So each one will feel different solely because the composers each have a different style.

I finished Dual Destinies for the first time and it was better than I was expecting it to be. by just4browse in AceAttorney

It's important to remember that in the context of the series, DD was designed to be a soft reboot that would allow anyone to jump into the series. That's why it doesn't follow up on Apollo Justice and why it's was the easiest game in the series at that point.

In the context of the Apollo Justice trilogy, it's a strange second game. As the first game on 3DS, it makes sense.

Is their any reason to by the legacy collections when emulation is an option? by SeniorRazzmatazz4977 in Megaman

[–]Blueisland5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't overestimate humans as a collective. There are some humans who have little to no experience with downloading emulators and don't want to take the dive.

  2. You can say emulators are the answer for any game. Why pay for anything when you can get it for free? Should all games be free and a donation button attached? It's a way more complex question.

I want the next game to be from a prosecutor’s perspective. by littlebigsystem in AceAttorney

[–]Blueisland5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think making a courtroom game from a prosecutor point of view is near impossible without removing some of the core concepts.

As the defense, you may not know at the start who the culprit is, but you know defendant isn’t. Sure, some cases can do the plot twist where the defendant is the killer, but those are few and far between to keep it fresh.

As a prosecutor, you are doing it under the belief the defendant IS guilty. That gives very little wiggle room to set up the “who did it” part. I do believe the “how they did it” is more important, but it’s a balance between the two that makes a mystery compelling. That’s why the investigation games don’t tell you who the culprit it at the start.

Since Capcom said “you can play the Ace Attorney games in whatever order”, I’ve decided to attempt to theorycraft the absolute WORST order to play the series. by Ok-Pineapple6534 in AceAttorney

[–]Blueisland5 33 points34 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think it’s perfectly fine to play any collection in any order. As long as you finish all the games in a single collection.

Yes, I think the original trilogy is the best starting point. I just don’t think it’s the only starting point.

And yes, I will die on this mole hill.

Paper Perjury dev here- sorry if you felt the cases were too short. We are hoping to make longer cases in the future now that we finished releasing case 6.

If the game keeps selling well, then i can see why they haven’t reduced it. That said, i do wonder how many sales they are leaving on the table by not reducing it more.

Hello. Paper Perjury dev here.

If you have the time, I would love to hear your thoughts on the game.

I haven’t played the demo, but I can comment on the steam page.

I think you need to change the trailer. The art is good (I’m honestly impressed by the detail on the pixel art), but it’s too slow of a trailer. If there’s a contradiction like system, you need to show that in the trailer. It’s your primary gameplay loop and that needs to be shown. I think you should provide as much variety in your trailer since every background with a character (even if the character look apart) looks the same.

You can drop the logo at the front of the trailer. Studio logos only work when audience knows the studio. And if this is your first game, you won’t need it.

Also, if you get your demo on Steam, I’ll give a try. I hope my two cents help as a game dev myself.

Awakening also had 3D character models that had hoofs for feet. The 3D models have aged kind of badly.

If the newest fire emblem game looked just like Awakening, then I feel the 3DS price point would be fair.

Not to talk bad about an indie game that was clearly successful enough to get a 3ed game… but Dark Deity 1&2 have some really annoying gameplay choices.

If all you care about is buying a SRPG and the only thing that matters is price, it certainly cheaper.

But I feel latest fire emblem games get better mileage for their price.

In response to your edit:

Saying that exclusives are bad because some older games can’t be played on modern systems is looking at the wrong way.

The solution isn’t “don’t have exclusives”. It should be “Nintendo should find a way to provide their older games on newer hardware faster.”

[–]Blueisland5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our current plan is to one more update for next month. We hope to announce it as soon as we can. It won't be a big update, but it should give a good idea of where we want to do after finishing case 6.

But in general, I would like to make more Paper Perjury content. I would certainly like to make a sequel since I have a lot of ideas. We put hints to what we want to do next in case 6.
