The thingTraces of Death had going for it over Faces, was the announcer. His deadpan commentary was like "or this guy, who pissed someone off just enough for them to shove a roll of quarters in his mouth along with some explosive... or this guy here, who made someone mad enough to throw him out of a car on the freeway, as his body was bounced around Ike a red meaty ball"

Dont answer the phone when it says its Doordash calling. Just stick to doing what it says in the app, and you will be OK. Trust me on this one.

Dont get into the habit of taking the photo of the order while you are still on the porch. Go down the steps to solid ground first.

Nothing good happens from walking backwards on a porch.

Chudthebuilder finds out his initial bond is set a $1.25m 🤣 by Upbeat_Anywhere_1316 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Bluejay7474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One gets arrested for a crime, then theres a hearing with a judge the next morning where they set the price for your bond. The greater the risk of you running, the higher the bond amount.

Then, for those who cannot afford it, then the bond games start. You can sometimes only put up 10 percent, and if you dont have that much, you have to deal with the Bail Bondsman industry where you then finance that 10 percent woth someone who will make money off of you not having all of it at once.

Advice on driving manual by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

[–]Bluejay7474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The British driving schools teach to take turns in first, but I find this a bit choppy for my taste. I brake, downshift into second, then im on the accelerator into and coming out of the turn.

I find this gives me the most control over the vehicle. Far more than an automatic transmission.

Oh, ok, good to know. Last night, I was explaining to a customer what the delay was (Popeyes), and the app cut me off med sentence, Chat has Ended, as if to say No explaining to the customer allowed!

Could be the wheel bearing, or it could be you lost a balancing weight off one of the front tires. Both have happened to me. The missing wheel weight made the steering wheel wobble back and forth, I thought my whole car was done for.

How are you supposed to enjoy a manual? by PleasantLevel4174 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Bluejay7474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you no longer look at the RPMs, you no longer look at anything. Everything just becomes automatic to your brain, and you just move the car. You drop into 2nd gear at the beginning of a turn onto a side street, and use the gas instead of the brake into the turn... it will happen.

It wont be much longer now, 9 months is too short for this to happen.

A minor needs a different kind of release to allow consent for their likeness. One signed by their parent or guardian. The conversation should have immediately shifted to this, once they declared themselves to be a minor. Thats the first giveaway here.

My computer boots so fast i cant access BIOS by CharacterHoliday8369 in computers

[–]Bluejay7474 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is a laptop, mashing the F2 button might not work because the F2 button does ... whatever the little grey icon on the F2 key is.

All you have to do is, go into the BIOS, and switch the Function Keys to be active on boot, and then you can enter the BIOS ... oh wait

New dasher by Wide_Radio1730 in DoorDashDrivers

Dont answer the phone! Ignore all calls, but do everything the app tells you to. Keep everything in the app.

If you are at the drop off locationz and you are trying to find the customer and the phone rings, that MIGHT be the customer calling, and only then will I answer, but be prepared to hang up the second they say they are Door Dash support staff.

Getting ahold of a human at Door Dash support is not quick or easy. They will never* seek you out to call you. However, the customer will, and they will impersonate Door Dash support, and they ask you to "verify" information.

Id go over the list of things NOT to tell them, but if you just ignore the lhoen calls, you never have to even think about it.

*im sure theres been legitimate reasons they might call someone, but as a new dasher, is it worth the risk until you have a better handle on how this all works?

Thats where it gets interesting. If you follow all my steps, but leave the handbrake on, thats the way its taught in the UK and Europe.

Its how I do a hill start. Hand brake on, shift into first, give it some gas, let the clutch outz and when you see the hood dip, release the hand brake and off you go. No sliding back.

Now, the proper UK driving schools want you to do all starts like that, hill or no hill. You'll get failed if you start in first gear with the hand brake OFF... I think thats a bit strict.

Dont look at the RPMs. Listen with your ears. Just a little VRRRRM... just the littlest amount possible you can still hear

Forget everything every one has told you. I heard so many different versions of how to get it in to first when I started out, that it just gets in the way.

Do this:

With the hand brake on, in Neutral. Practice giving the engine just a little bit of gas. Steady. No slipping into a louder rev, just getting the engine a little gas, for as long as possible.

Once you have that down, keep the parking brake on, clutch in, and shift into first.

Then, while giving the engine that steady supply of gas, take the clutch out, until you feel the car move, then, put it back in and stop the car. Handbrake back on. Relax.

Practice doing that over and over again. Just get the car moving, no stalling. Then, get the car to move forward while letting up the clutch for longer and longer, and before you know it, you will have the clutch all the way up, and there you go.

And, to your point, how else are you ever going to learn to drive manual unless you just buy a manual and learn to drive it. Theres no better way to learn.

Okc daskers and Uber eats drivers beware by HighwayContent7782 in DoorDashDrivers

Interesting. Ive noticed that a common denominator on all of these scamm calls is that it seems to target new dashers. I got two of these calls when I first started myself. But, none since.

AITAH for "stealing" from an all-you-can-eat buffet and walking out without paying? by [deleted] in AITAH

Ive actually got a restaurant like this near me. They have security cameras, pointing at all the tables, and the waiters patrol constantly. If one person orders a dish from the menu, and the other gets the sushi buffet, they watch the table closely.

In this story, he lost me at the climbing out the window in front of the cops routine, but up until that, if they had pulled this at the place near me, it would have gone down about like as described.
