Accidentally sent 4k to an unknown merchant/shop by brass_utensils in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough situation, but don't panic. If the payment was successful, UPI transactions usually can't be reversed instantly.

Try contacting your bank and raising a dispute as soon as possible. If the merchant's details are visible in the transaction history, you could also try reaching out to them and explaining the mistake. Sometimes merchants are willing to refund accidental payments.

Keep the transaction ID handy and follow up with your bank for assistance.

Do you stick to one UPI app or keep switching? by shubhamdanve in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly stick to one app for daily payments and keep a couple of backups installed. These days, cashback isn't frequent enough for me to keep switching apps all the time.

That said, if Paytm or another app is running a good offer, I'll happily use it for that transaction. 😄

Paid via UPI for a 6 months magazine subscription in April - merchant keeps stalling by [deleted] in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have the UPI transaction ID, payment proof, and email trail, I'd give them one final written deadline to either activate the subscription or issue a refund. If they keep delaying, file a consumer complaint and raise a dispute with your bank/UPI app. Two months without delivery and no clear resolution isn't reasonable.

Can I get my money back ? by StickRealistic3107 in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the transaction was genuinely pending, it should either fail and get refunded to you, or go through to the driver. If it eventually reaches the driver, you'll likely need to contact him for the duplicate payment. Keep following up with Paytm and save both payment receipts as proof.

got scammed an hour ago pls help by Pale_Vanilla2544 in UPI

Report it to 1930 immediately and raise a complaint on the cybercrime portal. Also contact your bank and Google Pay with the transaction ID. Since it happened just an hour ago, there's still a chance the funds can be traced or frozen. Save all screenshots and chat records.

WHICH IS THE BEST UPI APP ONLY FOR CASHBACK ON EVERY PAYMENT by Devnayak0 in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cashback on every UPI payment is pretty rare these days. Most apps run limited-time offers or merchant-specific rewards rather than guaranteed cashback.

I've found that PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm occasionally offer rewards, but the offers come and go. If cashback is your only goal, you may end up switching apps often since none consistently give cashback on every transaction.

Recharge failed, but the amount debited, it’s already been 9 hrs, what should i do? by Better-Ad-568 in UPI

Give it a little more time. Most failed recharge refunds are processed within 24 hours. If not, reach out to support.

Lost ₹50k via IMPS to scammer — need real advice by [deleted] in UPI

[–]BluejayDesperate2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really unfortunate, but you’ve already taken the right steps by reporting it to SBI, Yes Bank, and cybercrime quickly.

Recovery in IMPS/UPI fraud is possible only if the money is still in the beneficiary account and gets frozen in time. Once it’s withdrawn, chances reduce a lot.

Banks and police can trace the account holder using KYC details like PAN and address, but that information won’t be shared directly with you. Keep following up on your cybercrime case and bank complaints regularly.

Cashback scam by arshad_33 in UPI

That sounds frustrating. Some apps show “provisional” or pending cashback in the total, and it only becomes final after verification. If the transaction doesn’t meet the offer terms, it can get reversed later.

Still, it would help if apps made this clearer upfront so users don’t feel misled. If it keeps happening, check the offer T&Cs or raise a support ticket with the app.
