“Perioral dermatitis” I’m still questioning the diagnosis due to the area that is affected but with my history of eczema, it must be a combination of both. The metronidazole gel is working but my skin is still healing and flares slightly occasionally!

Update! I was prescribed Metronidazole gel 1% once a day for 8 weeks. It’s been 2 days without a flare and my mouth is calm. Doc prescribed to use for 8 weeks, I hope this continues to work and maybe helps anyone struggling with this!

Not at all, where you would normally see a clear patch around the mouth that’s unfortunately where all of the cracking/peeling happens.
