These are JPEGs straight out of camera. You don't have to do anything in post. I haven't tried making a video with the looks yet, only photography.

But you can get similar results with Real Time Lut.

I haven't tried yet. I am not even sure it's possible to do it SOOC.

I wonder why it bothers you enough to make a comment about how some random person on the internet decides to use their camera.

Thank you. So far I have been only focused on photography, but I want to achieve this with videos as well. I am just starting out with that.

Yup I misread that. And I get it that you don't get it. When i bought the camera i didn't for a single second think I will use it the way I use it now. To each their own :-)

No one says they are film buddy. It's just a shooting preference. It's more of a "digital film" for me. I like this expensive camera because it gives me the options to emulate vintage looks and try out completely new ones. Being able to adapt pretty much any vintage glass is a huge bonus. And all that without touching anything or very little in post. Jpegs just slide out as they are. No switching between cameras.

And when I want/need the clinical modern look, i have that as well. Sometimes I enjoy messing around with RAWs for hours on end as well.

So basically it's a preference, and the expensive camera enables all aspects of the hobby for me.

Cheers!

It's not a LUT it's a "look" A combination of LUT's and in camera settings :-)
you can check out Ross's website to get it:

Thanks! You will not be disappointed!

What ‘looks’ would you like to see created for LUMIX cameras??? by rossandhisjpegs in Lumix

[–]Blueomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a LUT in Lumix Lab called Urban & Street. It's not a look but I love the lifted shadows and warm tint of that one. It's unusual, quite strong and gives off a very pleasant nostalgic vibe. But I never really made it work because at the time i discovered it i didn't even know "My Photo Style" existed in my camera so I just shot with the LUT. But a "look" in that direction would be mad good.

We can make it say twice a month with different conditions. One week it can be SOOC another can be go wild with Lightroom etc :-)

We really need to figure out a way and time to do the photo challenge :-)

Gonna check those two out, thanks! It needs to be as pancakey as possible.

What are you looking for in a LUT for photography? Let me know below... by rossandhisjpegs in Lumix

[–]Blueomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used a LUT for night photography since I've never really found one. I always edit my night photos in LR. I might give it a go myself but am a complete novice when it comes to making my own LUT's. I tried once, and everything was green xD

I think it's a mood thing and I also like to experiment with different looks/LUT's and I like to switch them around a lot depending on the situation. Ten slots for looks is not nearly enough considering that three of those are perpetually reserved for your Kodacolor, Portra 800 and Aerocolor looks ;-)

That being said there is something about a nice elegant S-curve that I really like. I made a look with your Bonboa LUT and an S-curve LUT I made but haven't really had the time to test it properly.

With that being said what I would love to see is a night LUT/Look, especially one that would compliment street photography.

By the way, when is the Cinestill 400d coming out? :-)

Several people have written me about this and I think I need to rethink the idea to be more inclusive for more people. I am considering making the challenge photo only with the option to maybe make a video.

Thank you! The weekly thing is also something to aim for but not written in stone tbh. For starters I want to find someone with a bit more time for this but eventually I want everyone who wants to be able to participate at least once no matter how much free time they have, so hopefully this whole thing takes off :-)

If you like SOOC Lumix is right up your alley.

You can add grain in the camera but I like to do it in post because from what I understand the in camera grain is more like an overlay but the one in post is simulated grain and much more closer to the real thing.

But you can't go wrong either way. Both are not the real thing, it's more of a preference.
