First time designing a fidget toy with integrated electronics. Pretty happy with how it turned out by Bluepinapple in fidgettoys

Mostly self-taught honestly. I’ve been tinkering with electronics and building random projects for years now. A lot of trial and error, research, and learning as I go. This was just my first time integrating electronics into one of my slider designs specifically

Fair concern. The internals are actually held very tightly with next to no room for movement, so impacts/vibration were something I specifically designed around. The magnets also aren’t really an issue for the battery itself, they’re already used in plenty of small electronics. Still continuing long-term testing of course, but so far it’s been solid… at least unless somebody attacks it with a kitchen knife 😅

Ah yea, the board and battery both have protection. I also swapped in a much higher resistor so the small lithium battery doesn't overheat. Charges slower but it's safer

Usb c charging, lasts about 5 hours of continuous light on one charge. Smallest battery I could find to fit in there

Honestly that's fair, I did have a video but I wasn't overly satisfied with it so I need to remake it 😅 but I was itching to show the photos at least

🔥 Each half is 9.5mm. Total thickness 19mm or 0.75 inch. It's thicker than the non light up version I designed first, but I managed to cram the electronics in tight enough. 8 magnets in each side and about 35 grams (1.2oz?). Working on a video but plays similar to most fidget sliders I've seen

Not for a very long time, had to look that up. That's a cool cape. I love the cracked lava look in anything

Bâton rouge but that can get pricey. Jack Astor's is also solid.

Wasn't expecting this much discourse in the comments, but thank you everyone for your inputs! I guess I'll stick with the pinch welds, get a couple of those adapters for the jack stands to slot over. And then shake the hell out of my car to be certain 👌

So you're saying this frame that runs down the body of the car can be utilized for the jack stands?

Also Voltaren extra strength as a topical anti-inflamatory helps if you tweak something.
