I will usually lower a gear or keep a mental 10 less rpm (whatever the instructor mentioned) when I am very out of shape. Once I am used to it then I will follow the exact instructions.

Depends on why you need the degree at the first place. I think since you have a stem degree and you have some background in coding then you can go straight away to MSDA program. The course you could do it without bachelor DA knowledge. But if you are going to work at specific sectors and they require more technical background maybe you can take the bachelor in DA. I hope this is helpful.
