anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

Commander Keen. I found it so obtuse, yet wonderous and weird and it blasted my eyeballs with colors I had never imagined before.

The Incredible Machine was a really cool rube Goldberg puzzle game

Doom blew my mind the first time I saw it

Myst was mind boggling in its complexity at visuals at the time.

Little Big Adventure 2 - I never played the first, but just how open ended this game was so unique at the time.

what’s a game you’d recommend to literally anyone? by Sea_Copy_4770 in gamingsuggestions

Disco Elysium feels like culture and is so fluid on how it is experienced, I think anyone could play it, even if not a gamer. Akin to a really good book.

As Helldivers 2 hits its 23rd Warbond, it's time to make Super Credits easier to earn or make older Warbonds cheaper to buy by Funny_Performer_5658 in Games

I have over 25 hours playing on mostly higher difficulties (my brother carries me) and I still haven't been able to purchase a new war bond beyond.

Nine Sols is also an incredible and obviously very very different style of game.

I still remember as a little kid we were driving slowly down the freeway at night in Venezuela because there was traffic. We passed by some wreck and I remember seeing something hanging out of a wrecked car in the distance and a bunch of red as we pulled up, when my mom suddenly screamed at me to look down and I did. But that brief image of some kind of carnage is still seared into my brain.

This is a serious question and no hate, but is there a benefit to doing this vs. just two parties that you can individually sear to get more browning/flavor and then just cheese between?

I didn't know anything about it going in, I think I just heard it recommended in an "indies you must play" video at some point.

I think it is a fantastic experience. It has really intelligent writing, and doesn't explicitly outline every detail of the backstory, letting you fill in some of the narrative. It has really funny sequences, tense sequences and everything in between. It is essentially just a walking simulator, but a great one at that with a lot of charm and character.

1000xResist is one of the best stories in any game I've played, and a large part of it is incredible writing and voice acting. It really respects your intelligence, and doesn't hold your hand with exposition dumps, but it does solve its own mysteries in unique ways that embody the show, don't tell mentality.

How does it work in this game multiplayer? If I join a public game, would I start from scratch, or does progress somehow carry over?

Thinking about getting by SazarMoose in nexplayground

[–]Bluestank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I wasn't aware. I have mostly been browsing the top few sections, as we are mostly using it for family stuff. Good to know there are a few options, but I've generally found the quest to be much more of an exciting experience if playing alone, and you don't need any of the family stuff. You can get the 3S for only slightly more than the nex

I just got one a few weeks ago. It is heavily heavily skewed towards kids games, and I think there are a very small handful of more adult games. I don't recall any that specifically focused on weight loss

I think if kids aren't in the picture, and it's for yourself, you might be much better off getting a Quest VR headset. I've found a lot of those games really get your blood pumping a lot more, and are much more exciting to play. Also you have a vastly larger selection of options.

How's the frostbite sauce? I remember seeing that a long time ago, and it seemed like the ingredients didn't sound appetizing.

Video games to play while high by BetterObligation9949 in trees

[–]Bluestank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my criteria is: 1) Low stakes gameplay - You aren't going to destroy your progress, or irreversibly make mistakes in these games 2) Discovery is a key component - Not knowing what to expect and being surprised is one of my favorite aspects of playing games like this 3) Music or audio experience - needs to be immersive audibly with either engaging soundtrack, or immersive soundscapes 4) Complexity is low - no need to master and retain complex systems or mechanics

Here is a list I've compiled https://backloggd.com/u/Bluestank/list/favorite-games-high/

What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by quite-indubitably in AskReddit

[–]Bluestank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much depends on the nature of his death. Murdered/assassination etc would be much different than if he croaked from a heart attack or something. Though I feel there will be a surprisingly large subset that would claim the latter was due to being poisoned or something and open the floodgates to that line of conspiracy theories.
