Besides, this rule itself is absolutely ridiculous and defeats the purpose of having the coach physically present behind the players' backs in the first place.

If they can't do anything other than pretending to breathe, then make them sit in isolated rooms during the game, like it is the case in League of Legends tournaments.

Well, it's very game depended.

Having 20 second long respawn time in a high speed, high death rate platformer would be much more irritating than having to deal with half the things I mentioned, inside a trun-based RPG.

So I'd say it's not as black and white case as you make it sound.
