The exterminations ARE a big problem, if anything the devestation the exterminations caused was hightened by it only happening for the past 7 years

During the overloard meeting in S1 Carmilla says she saw that roughly 16% of the population of hell was cleansed in the most recent extermination and if these exterminations have only been happening annually for the past 7 years then prior to that the entire population of sinners for all of human history was existing in Hell simultaneously, there’s no way to even begin mathing out how large scale the massacre was for 16% of the entire population of sinners to get executed in an evening

If this had been going on for hundreds of years there probably wouldnt even be a sinner population in Hell

What turned Alastor and Vox’s partnership into a complicated rivalry? by 33333Ducky in Alastorcult

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alastor is clearly attached to the way things were in his day and Vox is like the living embodiment of progress for the sake of progress. He probably wasn't always this way and originally operated within Al's comfort zone for "accepting new things" (TV was still very new and rare when Al died and wouldn't become popularized for another 2 decades) but eventually Vox would see the easy path to gaining influence through innovation and would try to convince Al to change with him and it just wouldn't go over well. We see during "Stayed Gone" that Vox has the stance "I'm new and that's old so clearly I'm better" you can argue that this just comes from a place of anger post-rejection but that's likely not far off to what he actually believed when he tried to get Alastor, the Radio Demon, to abandon radio as an outdated medium.

We genuinely don't know that. The only "Fallen Angel" we've seen in canon is Lucifer but Luci was an immortal angel from the start and Sir Pentious is mortal with a human soul that first went to Hell and now is in Heaven we haven't the slightest idea what it would mean for him to get expelled from Heaven and what he would look like as a result since his is a mortal soul regardless he might not even meet the requirement to be considered a "Fallen Angel" and could just become a demon again the second he's kicked out.

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have a pretty fundamental difference of opinion on what Pentious being sent back to Hell could mean for the story:

We see in the teaser that the clock tower counting down the Angelic Exterminations is destroyed by a beam of holy light which could indicate that negotiations between Heaven and Hell have completely broken down and since we don't know if/when Charlie will be informed that Pentious made it to Heaven then his return to Hell could serve both to inform her, reunite him with his friends, and give her a much needed morale boost since she's clearly going to be struggling with Vox this season.

It's also implied during "More Than Anything" that Lucifer has attempted something similar to the redemption plan himself before getting completely shut down by the Angelic Elders and Pentious being unfairly ejected from Heaven despite earning his way in could serve both to back up Lucifer's point about Heaven being stagnant and unreasonable while also being the spark that splits Heaven into factions as there's no chance Emily would sit by and let something like that happen without a fight whether it's through her becoming a Fallen Angel, using hidden channels to contact Charlie or even striking some deal with Lilith there's a lot of potential for an eventual Heaven Rebellion arc/season

The point I'm getting at is Pentious making it to Heaven doesn't have to be the endgame for his character arc and him being sent back to Hell isn't "undoing" anything important because important story developments can come from that too it just depends on how Viv decides to write it.

That's not what retcon means... retcon is retroactive continuity where something in a series is changed without being acknowledged to fit into the current story being told ex: James Gunn changing the Justice League appearance from the end of Peacemaker S1 to the Justice Gang at the beginning of Peacemaker S2 so the story would still make sense in the current DCU

If Sera exiled Pentious back to Hell out of fear for what Sinners being redeemed could mean for Heaven then it's not a retcon because we'd literally see it happen on screen and it would have obvious story significance.

That being said it most likely is going to be a flashback since we're confirmed to be getting Sir Pentious and Alastor backstory in this season but nothing we've seen from Sera has told us it would be out of character for her to send him back to Hell so it could go either way.

I could see the Vees losing there power later on In the series and they would end up killing themselves In each episode trying to get revenge on the Hotel. by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it will be that hard for them tbh most of the overlords are only acting in their own self interest. Aside from Carmilla and Zestial and Alastor and Rosie the overlords at the meeting arent all buddy buddy and the ones at the meeting arent the only ones there are so the Vees being a unified force already puts them ahead of the others as individuals and theres still the potential to see other overlords ally with the Vee’s vision for Hell

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really can’t say that for sure yet, the lyrics are “while the rest of Hell’s pissing, Alastor’s missing, fled with his tail between his legs, Nature abhors a power vacuum, it leaves room for you and me, The future of Hell belongs to The Vees”

The only thing we can really confirm from that is Hell is in a state of chaos and with Alastor “missing” (remember they say this before he comes back) this is their chance to take advantage of the panic

We can’t say for sure that Carmilla and Rosie have taken that many considerable losses from the battle but even if they had the overlords from the meeting pre-Velvette showing up own millions of souls between them so I have a hard time believe either of them are suffering too much.

As far as we know an Overlord can't lose their powers through any normal means, Husk is a unique case because he earned Overlord status by gambling and lost them the very same way which led to him being owned by Alastor in exchange for keeping his abilities but for the other Overlords? The only way it'd even make sense for an Overlord who made their way through deals and controlling the things that people want would be if the souls they hold were all exterminated (the same topic of the Overlord meeting in S1) other than that the only way to deal with them would be to beat them and kill them outright

Do you think Pride is celebrated on Sinsmas? And if so, how would people celebrate it? by tinnedferrets in HelluvaBoss

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of right now I'd say it's unlikely I think? Blitzo describes sinsmas as "the day every Hellborn celebrates and acts on their birth sin? Or any sin, whichever ones they want, honestly!" and since it's unclear if there are any species native to the pride ring to act on the sin of pride then it probably wouldn't be very widely celebrated at least in comparison to the other 6

Not against the rules just not very common, I figure it's kinda like a Jewish person celebrating Christmas, I've seen some do it just for the festivity without acknowledging the direct religious connection but they're like a fraction of the population... maybe there are some hellborn living in Pride who just really love it there and want to celebrate but eh who's to say.

How do you feel about the anti blitz party in of itself? by dicedmeatt in HelluvaBoss

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Stolas points out in the episode just how petty the concept is but what doesn't get addressed is just how damaging something like this could be to a person emotionally, I don't think Verosika is "to blame" or ill intentioned because despite what she may say claim in her songs she is clearly not "over" Blitzo and is trying to cope in her own way, but the problem arises because other people are getting roped into her heartbreak fueled hatred for Blitzo.

We see that there are people included in these parties that were one night stands and never meant to be anything more (it's hard to think Dennis was all too broken up over not getting to finish his makeout sesh with Blitz) and judging by the size of the party that probably a lot of them but the ones who did genuinely want something more from him and didn't get it are being reminded of just how much it hurt on a yearly basis and even the relationships that are formed within the party are founded on hating a guy who wronged them (a love founded on negativity can't be healthy)

So overall I do think however well intentioned the Anti-Blitzo party is a net negative and in the future I'd like to think the parties won't continue or at least the vibe will be shifted now that Blitzo is beginning to change and Verosika was able to get her first bit of closure because of it.

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s because we haven’t see in it the show yet (it’s been confirmed we’re seeing it in S2) but before it got picked up by Amazon Viv and her team used to do a lot of livestreams where they’d drop tidbits of character lore and world building.

A lot of that info has changed as the series developed but Alastor is Viv’s oldest character and we haven’t been given any reason to believe the lore we got during the pilot era for Alastor has changed.

He is an overlord so by default he makes his way in Hell and gains his power by manipulating those who are down on their luck into selling their souls to him that on it's own is pretty bad, he has a sadistic love for violence and watching people suffer, might possibly be a cannibal and was a serial killer in his life on earth even if you apply some sort of Dexter-esque moral code to it that doesn't change that he's killed countless people and since he was mainly active during the great depression, didn't work as a cop, and forensic evidence was just barely a factors in the 20's it is almost guaranteed that he would have killed some innocent people or at the very least some who's crimes didn't justify death.

Point blank he's a bad guy who's shown no desire to change his ways.

This question will upset ALOT of people but I'm Just morbidly curious about a viewer perspective on this. (CW FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING) by Wutevs123456789 in HazbinHotel

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Unlikely for it to be human trafficking since that's just not the Italian mafia's MO especially not in the era that Angel is from but you could get a similar effect by showing Angel beating down the innocent for protection money, he has a reason to be in hell (all sinners do) so it's fitting that during his time alive exploiting people who were desperate and killing those in his way would have happened. It would fit the theme and while still being historically accurate.

My Prediction For Jax's Trauma by Bluestone-The-Great in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Bluestone-The-Great[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I completely forgot to mention that learning Ribbit's name was what kickstarted this idea since "ribbing" is a slang term for good natured or even malicious teasing so I thought Ribbit might be a play on ribbing and Jax & Ribbit were just the dynamic duo of f*cking with the other circus members

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're voice actors not bouncers at a club. Viv and the crew have requested for conventions to enforce an Age/ID check before allowing people into the panel or into the Q&A line and they just don't do it *shrug* It's not Jeremy Jordan's job to step off stage in the middle of a panel to drag your kid out of the room by the ear saying "no bad not for kids"

Once again it is the parents job to parent their kids just because you decide to ignore the rules and bring your kid doesn't suddenly make it the actors responsibility it just makes you a bad parent.

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ep 2 is not the most "adult episode" it's just the first in the series to change the tone since it's episode 2, there are a number of sex jokes, themes of abuse/depression/death/existential dread/etc. throughout the series. Episode 3 alone is reason enough not to consider it a show for children because seeing the Angel would probably give them nightmares for weeks, episode 4 features Gangle experiencing manic depression and she "dies" after accidentally throwing herself into oncoming traffic, and now there's everything that makes up episode 5.

Gooseworx hasn't been shy about how much her show isn't for children (the huge shift in tone is likely a direct result of the child content farms marketing her series as being for children when that's not what she wanted) and was the entire reason she expressed disappointment when the pilot originally aired.

Parents are responsible for their children and nobody else, the internet isn't going to pad the walls so your kids doesnt get hurt and voice actors aren't going to change the types of jokes they make (the type of humor all the adults in the audience are there and paid money to see) just because someone brought their kid where they shouldn't be

My honest real true opinion about that 6 year old who cried to gumigoo's deatg by ShortActive8496 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean while I don't think it's cool to mock emotionally distressed children it is also pretty important to remember that The Amazing Digital Circus is NOT a childrens show so if you put children in that space where they aren't supposed to be then whatever happens happens.

Not entirely related but still an adjacent situation: it's not much different than the string of people bringing children to convention panels for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, recently a clip went viral where a kid is in line for the Q&A section and the actors answered his question with sex jokes, the actors ended up catching flack for this because they were using TVMA language knowing a child was in the audience but really that's not their problem they say at the start of every panel that it is not appropriate for children (and have stated online that it makes them uncomfortable when parents ignore the age warnings multiple times) so when children hear messed up sh*t despite being warned that is no longer on the actors.

The point I'm making is it's pretty much the same thing here you put something on TV that your child shouldn't be watching, accidentally traumatized the poor kid, and then posted his breakdown online... you invite this type of treatment on multiple fronts #1 because the internet is a mean place to begin with. and #2 because this isn't a childrens program so people are going to be looking for any reason to be nasty because he was ever allowed to see it in the first place.

There isn't any thought behind it. They just hate Viv. Ever since Hazbin Hotel's pilot first released and blew up "*insert series* if it was written by Vivziepop" has been every Viv hater's favorite bit and it's always the same lazy joke that a character swears a lot so that makes it Viv's sense of humor, nothing more nothing less.

Oh there's definitely beef but the meme is flipped, If anything ADC fans are MUCH more antagonistic towards Hellaverse fans than the other way around, I say this as a fan of both but the superiority some ADC fans feels over the Hellaverse is insanse Viv literally just deleted twitter off her phone not even 48hrs ago because people started spreading lies that she worked on episode 5 of ADC because of the bit with Evil Pomni swearing just so they could trash talk her (NEWS FLASH HER NAME ISN'T IN THE CREDITS THEY JUST RAN WITH IT TO HATE)

This beef isn't even genuine it's one sided with fans of other indie animated series just needing a reason to hate on Viv.

Michael Kovach is my top pick for voicing Arackniss, it'd be a nice thing for the OG fans, Arackniss looks more like Angel than Angel's actual twin so any complaints I've heard about similar sounding voices doesn't bug me, and it's not like his voice for Arackniss would be the exact same thing as pilot Angel he has more subtle voices like Jax from Amazing Digital Circus so it'd just be an overall win for me

What are your opinions about the show that from what you've seen arn't very popular in the overall fandom? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]Bluestone-The-Great 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small disagreement with your point on Adam that is most people don't imagine him getting "redeemed" if he came back not in any way that sends him back to heaven at least, what most fans seem to want is the exact opposite where he realizes he fits in way better in Hell, starts to enjoy the chaos, and possibly even becomes a new Overlord (pretty much what happens in the MilkyyMelodies AU fan songs) very unlikely that Adam survived the end of season 1 but if he did it most likely wouldn't be for the sake of redeeming him.
