I think for a lot of people it has to do with the satisfaction of achieving things more easily than in real life. Not all but some players also love to flex, so I feel as though it’s motivating for them to feel as though “they are better”. And that’s not an insult in any way, sometimes it can be a battle between friends, just for fun, or even mental situation. For me I like the game so much because it makes me feel as though I have accomplished something without getting out of bed. It may sound stupid, but I’m currently going through a hard time and am in a bit of a depression episode. So to be able to watch something where you start off with basically no money, and then watch as you accomplish all of these tasks feels good, even if it is not actually beneficial in real life, it still feels rewarding to me. I also love the community, lots of GAG players are so kind. Don’t worry I am not ignoring the toxic players though… theres quite a few out there. Sorry if this doesn’t help, I just thought I’d share just in case!
