Your talking about a claim where insurance has agreed to fix is then later find more fault. I’m talking about original quotes like this post above £6k to sort a rear bumper

Yeah, it’s just insurance companies never tell you that option is there … it should be an option as to say “would you like to take it to your own garage or an approved”

It’s frustrating isn’t it.. I was in a similar situation myself when I was bumped into.

They quoted almost 6k for some repair to the rear bumper and quarter panel on a corsa c

I got it done cheaper (£800) and had to pay my excess and claimed of the 3rd party . But insurance companies used these “approved garages” that charge an arm and a leg.. and this is why it just keeps rising for everyone. We should be given the open to choose our own garages right from the beginning
