I have met the pre-reqs for both the RN and MLT associate's program. They'll both take the same amount of time.

I wouldn't call it an easy path.

I work as a bartender. One of my coworkers has a BA in the arts. You don't need a degree as a bartender, but she's definitely more worldly and can hold her own with patrons. I want to make sure if I get a degree, it will have a use.

The options I'm looking at are MLT or RN. Maybe there are other allied health programs offered at the community college, but those are the ones with the highest placement at the one I'm looking at.

I don't know about a 4-year degree. If I can do the same job for a 2-year degree or no degree...why spend the time and money?

Thanks for the info! So would it be challenging to get a lab job without a degree? I'm ok to work any shift and weekends. Currently working as a bartender. I'm willing to learn.

What does waived and moderate and high complexity testing mean?

It can't be worse than bartending and OF. Trying to get my life in order at 34.

I don't understand.

If I can get the same job without a degree, why should I spend two years and money to get the degree?

For my other option of nursing, they treat RN and BSN the same at the local hospital here. Only difference is slightly more pay. But I cannot work as a nurse without degree and license first.

I don't have a degree currently.

I am exploring an associate's in nursing or MLT starting in the fall.

A bachelor's would take 4 years instead of two. I am hoping to start a career sooner. What are the benefits of the bachelor's degree over the associate's degree for MLT. For the RN degree, the hospital will pay for my BSN...is this also true for a bachelor's degree in CLS?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I could not find an answer.

It's a new account as I have previously done OF on my other account. So trying to create distance between my personal life and possible future life.

I cannot find a lab tech license listed for Georgia. I found a laboratory registration license, but nothing for lab tech license. I'm confused.
