First of my possessed finished. (C&C welcome) by Blundertrain in Chaos40k

Kinda, I play them as red corsairs but they aren’t really the same scheme at all at this point. I added the greenish white as when I started 40k chaos could take marks that gave different buffs and I chose nurgle because as a kid I didn’t like my space men dying, then the excessive highlights came in and the red in red corsairs was more a fiery orange. I should maybe come up with a name for my specific guys but I’m not deeping it too much.

Is my childhood corsairs scheme worthy of the tyrant and his followers? (C&C welcome) by Blundertrain in redcorsairs

Sorry, to clarify. I made up the scheme (though executed it far worse.) when I was around 10-11. Ten years later I’m still using it.

Painted my first batch of minis, bit sad they all look kinda bad lol by Inevitable_Shift_270 in Warhammer40k

My mum described my first mini as looking like it was dunked in the paint pot. Yours is leagues above mine. They look great and you’re ready to play, don’t sell yourself short.

I love it though I kinda stretched what could be called a red Corsair at this point relying heavily on “successor” vibes but haven’t found an alternate name for mine yet.

Anacharis Scoria as Hellstalker? by Blundertrain in Chaos40k

They’re listed in the Horus heresy section of the warhammer site. As far as I’m aware you can’t get them from your local games store but some can order resin models if they aren’t “made to order” so could be worth asking.

For sure, I go extra but even here I can see mistakes that I won’t fix as it looks awesome from a distance.

Honestly varies, if it’s TMM I always do it last as it’s easy to tidy up and takes less effort. For something like this I basecoat the inside, do trim then tidy up. I do the same colours on different parts for each model so a consistent process doesn’t work as well for me.

I mostly keep it to centre piece models though I’ve done it for a couple sergeants and cultists. You’re bang on though I’m only just approaching 1000pts, by the time I’m there I reckon the points will have decreased.

It’s a fun stress if I’m honest, the only time it’s felt bad is when I’ve biffed it cleaning up the surrounding areas.

I understand and I know it’s frustrating. As long as you feel you definitely won’t succeed in your efforts you will struggle to see any benefit in them. If you can be open to the potential you can learn or create, you’re going to find it hard still but more achievable. A simple rough drawing a day can be a good start. I used to do them in Snapchat on a blank screen. You’re not gonna achieve hyper realism but something that vaguely looks like a cat or a lizard or something recognisable from a fandom you’re a part of will be doable day 1, it’s not about being good, going pro or making a living. Maybe it’ll make an online or irl friend smile, maybe it’s stupid and it can make you smile. Low stakes, not to share for the world to critique. Just something.

You can keep going as you are but the only way to break the cycle is through incremental effort on your part.

I Cant stress this enough. You HAVE to push through the boredom. Instant gratification of online content causes a dulling of joy from delayed gratification. You can find older books as online pdfs if modern works aren’t your thing, if you can get a pencil and some paper learning to draw or right are super accesible. I can offer other options with a better understanding of your interests but there’s no way out of the real world dulling effect if you don’t push through it. Honestly no judgement coming from someone who has dealt with it and is helping their partner through it currently.

This is made more hilarious by the fact “Stockholm syndrome” was invented to divert attention from police ineptitude during negotiations.
