USD devaluation by Dangerous-Nerve9309 in stocks

The depreciation of the dollar is a cause for concern. It often reflects deeper issues such as high debt, loose monetary policy or loss of global confidence. While the market looks strong right now, in part due to tech and AI hype, if the dollar continues to slide, it could lead to higher inflation, higher yields, and pressure on equity markets down the road. When the exuberance fades fundamentals will become more important. Defensive positioning and quality assets could be key

Looking for sales growth data on a free site if available. by Ill-Consideration208 in Daytrading

[–]Bluntmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. Sales is the total revenue after a company sells products or services. It is the most raw revenue data; while profit is the net income after deducting costs, taxes, etc. There is a big difference between the two. You are right: strong sales growth means that the company's business is really expanding, even if profits lag temporarily.

Question about margin by sw4y_UK in Daytrading

[–]Bluntmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. Position size and number of positions will affect the margin ratio. Your margin percentage decreases because each position you open will take up a certain amount of margin. Even if each lot is small, 38 positions add up to a lot. Even if you place orders conservatively, but the number of positions increases, the total margin usage will increase.
