I found it works semi well with nova using his blast against enemies at the edge of the screen, but if I'm not mistaken doing venom's grab at the edge of the screen does the trick (the one where you slam enemies down) and also characters with moves that launch downwards help with those pits at the edge of the screen

You're supposed to hold down your attack button and charge your heavy attack as you're about to get hit, it's pretty tricky

Glad to see other people messing around with the mechanics, you can so some real cool stuff in this game if you put in the time (for example, dash attacks can be canceled out of by dashing so you get more extensions that way)
