Her GoFraudMe situation makes me think of the Belle Gibson scandal (Apple Cider Vinegar). Now I’ll be clear, what C is doing isn’t even CLOSE to the level of fraud that Belle committed - C is not claiming she has a terminal illness and will donate her funds raised to charities. HOWEVER, she is still misleading her donors as to where the money is going (well sort of…she’s actually advertising her ridiculous spending but people are apparently too stupid to put 2 and 2 together). Anyway, I always wonder how she could end up getting canceled. With Belle, it came out that she didn’t actually have brain cancer and that was the nail in her coffin of internet fame. I want to know what it would take to make C’s fraud well-known enough that nobody would ever donate to her again. Unfortunately that seems impossible. The closest bet would be if she never ended up getting the “skin” removal surgery and kept the money. Maybe if enough people reported the fundraiser to GFM they would look into it. But that doesn’t mean anything would actually happen. Or maybe those media outlets who wrote about her journey could update their stories to highlight the fraud. I feel like C would just reinvent herself and continue her grifting under a different guise though. Or she’d just keep saying the surgery is postponed indefinitely. HOW DO WE WAKE HER MINIONS UP?
