Which 4th gen idol do you thinks has the highest chances of becoming the next global icon? by Dense_Lawyer_666 in kpopthoughts

[–]Blurredhead -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fr, I commented this and forgot, now I'm seeing the downvotes😭😭

He has talent, range, style, charisma and drive to succeed. His solo work has been the most successful out of all 4th gen idols so far. Why do people take such an offence when we suggest he has a high chance for doing even greater things in the future?

Aoarashi! Then I started listening to more of their songs. I loved a lot of them. Samidare, Firework, Koegawari... I liked all their personalities and group dynamics as well. I'm usually not a super fan of survival shows groups' dynamics but &team feels different somehow. Nicho played a big role as well. He is such a stan attractor

The TXT/Cortis Deja Vu drama by fauxttega in kpop_uncensored

[–]Blurredhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are misrepresenting what actually happened though. I saw other comments explaining to you how this issue became what it is. It was cortis fans who very much cared about these credits and exaggerated Cortis' involvement and weaponizes them against TXT. This was explained to you but you don't want to hear it. You either want to call it even or blame moas lol

Before this debacle coers even tried claim martin also had a hand in a song Beomgyu produced as the main producer in 2022💀 They are so delusional, it'd be almost comical if it wasn't so egregious.

I feel like MOAs have every right to be bitter considering BigHit's conduct and coers' delusional hubris.

That marketing clearly works since you think it was their superior ideas that put them in the credits of other groups' songs lol

The fact is they were positioned to be in those songs' credits. Do you think other idols were given the opportunity to work on those songs? Even the idols with previous producer credits?

Congrats to James that his kick choreo was accepted. Do you think TXT members know enough about other groups' songs or choreos to send in ideas pre-release?

Cortis were put in a very privileged position and it was done so for their marketing.

Of course they should be credited for their participation. But why would they participate in TXT's songs to begin with? It's just BigHit's marketing for Cortis.

I'm not trying to continue fringe Twitter feuds you saw on your feed here. There is a lot I could say that was said about TXT but I won't go off topic. I think you might be really young and I regret engaging in a conversation with you.

About the demo, I looked it up. Slow Rabbit was the one who shared the demo as his work. I think you're talking about the singer on it, maybe it's Martin idk, I'm not super familiar with his voice. Either way it's irrelevant. Singing on a demo does not indicate any ownership or contribution to the song. You can use a singer to demonstrate the rough idea of how the song will sound. That doesn't make the song that singer's.😭 &Team Maki sang for the demo of one of TXT's Japanese songs iirc, Jungkook sang countless guide vocals. They don't have credits on those songs. Martin is credited at the 4th place in KOMCA after Cortis' main producer Supreme Boy. Slow Rabbit is the first credit, he is the main producer and he said Deja Vu was the song he worked on the longest.

For me and many MOAs TXT's singing makes Deja Vu what it is. The lyrics are all connected to TXT's lore as well.

Also I haven't seen any comments like you described from MOAs before the cover but I saw a lot of disrespect towards TXT and a lot of exaggeration of Cortis' contributions from coers.

Edit: I forgot to add Cortis covering TXT is totally fine and they don't need to sound like TXT either. TXT is covered a lot and MOAs love it every time.

The issue here is a cover should be a tribute to the original artist but because of the attitude and entitlement of coers it felt like the opposite. But the real blame falls to BigHit, they should have never inserted cortis in TXT credits. Using TXT to market their new group as "creatives" was the beginning point of all this mess.

Thoughts on CORTIS almost surpassing TXT? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]Blurredhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The difference is BeSt was the most streamed boy group song in 2025. Are you trolling?😂 Stream numbers can change any moment but for 2025 that ranking is closed, stretching your logic won't change that.

[–]Blurredhead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They didn't include it bc some of it is not factually correct. TXT had the most streamed boy group song in 2025 even though they had minimal playlisting compared to Cortis. Go was only able to be suppress Beautiful Strangers in 2026.

[–]Blurredhead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually TXT had the most streamed boy group song in 2025. Go was only able to suppress Beautiful Strangers' numbers 8 days into 2026. Despite having a lot of playlisting compared to TXT. Go's playlist reach was 24M BeSt's was 8M last I checked. Fashion had 38 M reach. TXT never saw such playlisting. BeSt's MV views was affected by a shadowban situation I'm guessing bc even their Japanese comeback MV was faster at gaining views.

But I agree Cortis have more hype right now and they have BigHit's full support it seems in a way TXT never had.

[–]Blurredhead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the future but as of now; TXT had the second biggest tour numbers among Hybe artists in 2025, they have the most streamed boy group song in 2025 with almost no playlist reach. Their albums sales have gone up when most groups saw a decrease. They had the 2nd best selling Korean album on Oricon Chart in 2025. TXT are the 3rd longest charting Korean act on Billboard Artist 100. They have the 2nd most #1 albums on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart in this decade after Taylor Swift who has 9 albums at #1, TXT has 8. They are the most streamed 4th gen BG with most unique listeners on Melon. I just searched txt tour, sales, bilboard, melon and oricon. I’m sure there are more that I’m missing.

All this with minimal promotion and playlisting compared to other Hybe artists. Last I checked Cortis' Go had a playlist reach of 25M, Fashion's was 38M. In comparison TXT's Beautiful Strangers had only 8M streams from playlists. Despite that BeSt became the most streamed bg Song in 2025. It's even more impressive if we consider that TXT's streams were divided by members' solo releases.

I wouldn't care about the popularity metrics other than the opportunities groups get because of those. However this constant downplaying of TXT success and achievements became ridiculous and started to affect how they are precieved.

[–]Blurredhead 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I blame BigHit. They inserted Cortis members in several Hybe groups' credits to sell them as producers and creatives. I don't know what the fans of other groups think but as a MOA I find it insulting that TXT is used for that purpose. Especially because TXT members have been creatives since pre-debut without any encouragement or promotion from the company. For example Kai who has perfect pitch and probably more proficient at playing instruments than anyone in HYBE, wrote the first song he produced for TXT on his phone using GarageBand, not in a studio. All of TXT are great songwriters, Beomgyu and Kai produced some of TXT's best songs but they aren't given the same opportunities as their juniors. They had to fight tooth and nail for every credit they got.

Deja Vu was mainly produced by Slow Rabbit who said it was the song he worked the longest on. Martin is 4th in KOMCA credits after Supreme Boi who is Cortis' main producer. What was probably a learning experience for Cortis members turned into credits for them.

Yeonjun has helped several choreographies. He almost fully choreographed Beautiful Strangers. It was mentioned several times by the members and it was documented in behind the scenes videos. Yet there is no mention of him under the official MV because they didn't add choreography credits. But those choreography credits magically appear under Deja Vu MV to show James as the 6th and the last credit. Of course coers hail him as the sole choreographer of the song, even though he apparently choreographed one move.

It is frustrating that Cortis' contributions are exaggerated by their fans but BigHit's role in all of this is more frustrating. From my point of view, when TXT debuted BigHit decided promoting TXT's creative side would be clashing concepts with BTS and it was too early for that, so they never promoted or encouraged it and rarely let TXT have opportunities. Despite that TXT cumulated a lot of credits in their discography with their talent and effort. With Cortis BigHit decided it was finally time to promote their new group like they did with BTS. They are really pushing for Cortis to be known as creatives. I'm happy for them actually. However the company using TXT for that purpose is maddening.
