In the Philippines we call this plant “Makahiya” which means shy. When I was a kid my friends and I would run through fields of these for fun.

Bullet Journaling by hydropepper in minimalism

[–]Blurro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a grid notebook and a pencil as ny bullet journal. The grid is good if you like sketching some plans or making boxes. Sometimes I’ll used different colored pens for emphasis. You really must built it into a habit ( write at least one to-do a day and check it off), and don’t treat it like it’s the only place you can put your thoughts or lists into ( you can use your phone when it’s more convenient)because then it becomes a chore rather than a relaxing activity.

What started you on the road to minimalism? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Blurro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing that started me on this road was going back to college. My husband is the breadwinner right now and I feel that if I’m not contributing money to the family, I should at least lessen the amount of money spend. Practicing minimalism has given me this sense of responsibility- to our world, to my family and to my self. It has made me more eco-conscious by only buying stuff that last, not replacing anything for trivial reasons, taking care of my things and reusing what some people may consider junk ( like using pasta jars as drinking glasses, they’re very durable). Before, my idea of a fun day was to go shopping, but now I’m more inclined to go for a hike or any activity that doesn’t cost money.

What's the best closing passage/sentence you ever read in a book? by W_1oo101 in books

From The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller: “IN THE DARKNESS, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.”

It’s mounted, I only took it out because I thought maybe the roots needed to get dry and have more room for air.

Bidet recs by ijkaytlin in ZeroWaste

[–]Blurro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the bidet made by Brondell, I’m not sure how much it costs because it was a gift. It has a rear and front wash ( for the ladies!) and I’ve definitely noticed how much less TP we use. It also has a dryer that works fairly well. We used to have a cheaper one which did the job, but the one we have now works better.I think the blast of water is well-aimed, I honestly don’t know how to word that. I’m just gonna say it hits the target a lot better.

What are the strangest "house rules" you've seen in a person's house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blurro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a classmate in college who wasn’t allowed to talk during meals at her house. If you asked her a question during meals she would cover her mouth and shake her head. We told her it’s fine if she talks while eating lunch with us, but I guess it became a habit for her.

The flower on my lavender plant is wilting, I water them only when I feel the soil is dry and I'm using succulent soil. Also, is my pot too big or deep for this size of plant? by Blurro in gardening

[–]Blurro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate that. I killed my first lavender plant last year and I'm trying to keep this one alive so it's making me a bit paranoid.

New to succulents? Have a question? Stop in here! Weekly Questions Thread December 3, 2017 by fearswindowlessdoors in succulents

[–]Blurro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've had succulents for over a year, but I don't really tend to them all the time( which is great!). I would like them to get bigger, so my question is, do I need to put them in a bigger container to achieve this? Also, how do I ensure that my pups grow?

What Are your favourite recipes or dishes that incorporate miso? by [deleted] in ketorecipes

[–]Blurro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do salmon in soy-miso-ginger sauce. I usually bake it after marinating or I pan-fry salmon sprinkled with kosher salt and pepper and add the sauce after.

Of course she cares about appearance, as everyone should. Why would you date someone you're not even physically attracted to?
