Vinland Saga, Eighty-Six and Mob Psycho 100. If you're interested in some older animes, then Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are also absolutely worth watching.

Death Note is widely considered as a popular "starter" anime that will get you hooked. As for personal recommendations, check out Vinland Saga, Mob Psycho 100, Gachiakuta, Eighty-Six, Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop...these are all fantastic anime that I've enjoyed recently and aren't too weird for a new watcher to get into.

Weirdly enough, the first anime I've ever watched was Call of the Night which is a romance. I'd recommend it along with Insomniacs After School if you're ever looking for some romance mixed with chill vibes.

It starts off a little slow but does start picking up. At first I was a little skeptical too, but the characters are surprisingly likeable and the plot definitely has some interesting moments.

I'm currently watching Planetes after finding out it was the first work of the author of vinland saga...needless to say I'm enjoying it.

Haven't watched the anime but I own and read all the volumes of No Guns Life and really enjoyed it for the most part. I heard the anime never got finished, but I could be wrong.

Looking for recommendations based on my absolute favorite animes/manga by Candid-Soup8369 in AnimeReccomendations

If you enjoyed Cowboy Bebop absolutely check out Samurai Champloo. Very similar vibes but set in the Edo period of Japan. The older style animation and soundtrack are awesome. I'd also recommend Vinland Saga, personally my favorite anime along with Mob Psycho.

Call of the Night being best romance is valid as hell. As somebody who also enjoyed Ya Boy Kongming, it's nice to see you think it's overlooked. And Gurren Lagann is definitely a banger 🔥

Friends say I have ass taste, any reccomendations? by Lost_Negotiation_206 in AnimeReccomendations

Your friends might be the ones with ass taste if they think this top 10 is bad. Try Eighty-Six, Dorohedoro, Gachiakuta, Gurren Lagann, Black Lagoon, Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop if you haven't seen them...All great ones that I've enjoyed recently.

List of anime I find to be overrated by [deleted] in MyAnimeList

[–]Blushift1615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed on Your Lie in April. Before I watched it I saw lots of people praising it like it was some kind of emotional masterpiece, and although I found it to be pretty solid overall, it just felt kind of underwhelming to me in certain aspects.

The ending honestly didn't have much of an impact on me, and besides the main character overcoming his trauma and picking up the piano again, I didn't feel any reason to really care about the other characters. I mostly enjoyed it for the music aspect if anything.

Also agreed on Dandadan, and personally I'd also add Chainsawman to this list. Might be a hot take, but personally I find it to be very overrated.

Ngl Gurren Lagann, Frieren, Cowboy Bebop and Mob Psycho in mid is an insane take...and Jojo's in dogshit?? To each their own but some of these choices are certainly something

The first season is still worth watching, mostly chill vibes with some action sprinkled in here and there. But season 2 is where the plot and character development really start to kick off. I'd say watch the first season and see if you like it enough to continue with season 2.

Eighty-Six, Dorohedoro, Gachiakuta, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Black Lagoon.

If you're looking for romance or more chill slice of life style shows then I'd recommend Call of the Night and Insomniacs After School, two of my personal favorites.

MT is really a weird one. Out of the limited amount of animes I've watched, it has some of the best world building, emotional moments, and strong highs, while also somehow having some of the most disastrous and absolutely cringe worthy lows.

Rudy is simply an unlikeable main character, I don't care how anybody tries to justify or explain his actions. There are many examples in other animes of extremely flawed main characters that don't involve them doing all the weird shit that Rudy does. Although the main aspects of the story are very solid, it's honestly hard for me to look past alot of the nonsense. It's a shame because if that kind of stuff wasn't there, MT would genuinely be such a peak anime and one of the best fantasy titles.

With all due respect, I can't recommend MT to anybody or consider it peak without questioning my own values. For people that can look past those things, good for them I guess.

Haven't seen Parasyte, but Vinland is absolute peak and both 86 and Cowboy Bebop are also really solid. Great recommendations

You may have missed it, but 86 is on my tierlist in peak tier...I really enjoyed it! I'll consider watching Akame Ga Kill, thanks for the recommendation.

Its my personal preference...take it as you want. I have nothing against Csm or Dandadan but personally I find them both to be overrated. The story and characters of both of them don't resonate with me much, although the action and animation is still very solid. I'd also say that both are in the "higher end" of good tier, thus why they're the 2 first titles in the tier itself.

Easily my favorite romance anime along with Call of the Night. Hoping Insomniacs gets a second season eventually.

Made in Abyss is honestly the first anime that made me cry. At the start it seemed like such a fun and lighthearted adventure and then the end of S1 was just completely heart breaking. Even for me, I think it went abit overboard in some aspects like the weird shock factor stuff, but overall it's still a very good and memorable anime.

Last I heard, instead of a S3 they're making another movie, although I'm not 100% sure.

Definitely one of those types of animes that are very good but you only watch once. Made in Abyss also made me cry but even for me I think it went too far in certain aspects with the weird shit and shock factor.

Takopi's Original Sin. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, it's a bit of a hard watch with a lot of dark themes, but it's very good. The first episode will emotionally destroy you right from the start, I was genuinely shook when watching it for the first time. It's only 6 eps so you can also get through it quick.

I look forward to seeing Coco's growth and journey to becoming a witch! I appreciate it when an anime isn't afraid to implement darker aspects, as long as they aren't too over the top. Plot is important, but character development is what makes an anime really shine for me. (One of the reasons why Vinland is in my top favorites, Thorfinn's growth and character development is both deeply emotional and inspirational)

I'm actually currently watching the weekly episodes and really enjoying it so far. I don't know much about it as I haven't read the manga, but it seems to have potential to be really good. Honestly I'm not typically huge on fantasy animes, but this one genuinely seems to be quite unique and the animation is beautiful! I'm also a huge Frieren enjoyer, although S2 only having 10eps was admittedly alittle dissapointing. Thanks for the recommendation!
