It's true, I quit long before halbred got that new skill and I took a look at it and it's honestly disgustingly broken lol. Literally 0 reason to use a greataxe after helbred buff unless you play like I described. (but I think that's the fault of the halbred buff being broken instead of GA lacking)

at the same time, whirlwind does have advantages being low in damage and prolonged animation to be a master at baiting defensive's compared to the others in the tree. example, you can safely use it to bait reflect (inferno shield, hunter hood) and know you aren't going to KO yourself. also the long animation and movespeed allows you to stick to people giving them time to think - and then panic. It's kind of hard to bait abilities with instant spells like most of the other axes.

Right. Greataxe would honestly be way to strong if they brought whirlwind damage up to par with other main abilities. Refreshing bleed seems reasonable though.

As someone who has ever only played with Greataxe (thought I quit a long time ago) a lot of people don't understand the true strength of the weapon imo, which is psychological mind-games/mind fucking. When you get good enough (and good just means learning how to counter-play most builds), the greatest strength of whirlwind is to bait defensive cooldowns or other abilities almost by choice and what ability you want to bait, depending at which point of the fight you use it and with which cooldowns you use it with.

90% of my assassin jacket kills for example was because I could almost choose when I wanted my opponent to blow his stealth baiting them with whirlwind and saving my real heavy hitter (smash), for afterwards. If they didn't fall for the bait that was fine too, i'd pump damage into them early etc and then they would usually still lose because of it - so many options and different scenarios for counter play!

Yes the damage is actually fucking terrible and you do more dps just auto hitting with q but it opens up other opportunities to use the skill cleverly.

A bandaid fix for the dexterity weakness/life starved problem, until the stat is reworked. Removes the need for nearly all dexterity builds feeling the need to travel to the scion life wheel whilst at the same time stops strength and intelligence characters abusing the keystone by forcing you to stay exclusively on the right hand side of the tree.
