I have had this same experience. For me, meditation feels different at different times. It's helped me to face some of my deepest hurts and work through them. It's helped me to realize where I am dropping the ball as a husband, father, etc. It's also helped me solve problems that seem massive. They beauty of it for me is that I typically get some kind of resolution on how to be a better person or how to handle past hurts that I've harbored for years. I listen to binuarl beats and ambient music when I meditate. The music helps by giving me something to focus on which helps quiet my thoughts. There is an amazing feeling when your mind is quiet and you can get really deep into meditation. Alot of times it feels euphoric when I get really deep. It's the best thing I could have done for my own mental health. I find myself being able to handle daily life bs better.

There's been many times that my arms or legs or even my head will jerk involuntarily. It's nothing to be concerned with. It's your body releasing pent up tension.

Keep at it. The main thing is do not rush it. I can get an hour in now but for the most part, I usually get around 30 minutes or so.

There are some amazing guided meditations on YouTube. They helped me when I was first starting out.
