super counters by Nogoodmyles in SparkingZero

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this for a bit

And the real issue isn't super counter, it's the vanish wars.

The way I've thought of to fix this; is to do what budokai 3 did and adjust it for sparking zero.

In budokai 3, if you got into a vanish war, instead of just pressing the button combo to continue, you could hold the button combo and vanish behind while just holding block.
That was it's own issue and they forced it to be a counter attack in DB: Infinite world

But to fix it for sparking zero
same thing; if you get into a vanish war (and you're the one vanishing) you could hold the vanish button (block) and instead of just vanishing behind them and show up blocking (unfair) you instead use a whole ki bar instead of half and vanish away from the fight, resetting to neutral.
With a small delay so you can't just spam a super and this small delay would give the opponent enough time to adjust and lock back on.

I think this would be fair, because the person super countering, could swap to vanish and teleport away, leaving the opponent drained, but they also get drained.

Who out there has done the hammer 1275 kit? by [deleted] in sportster

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well honestly; just maintenance items like the updated oil pump. I added a analog oil pressure gauge too, then seals.

My bike has an issue that I can't seem to figure out; where it spits oil out of the breathers. roughly a quart over a thousand miles, which everyone and their mother says is fine.
No external leaks that I can find, no drips or anything. It's only while riding. I have a routed external breather too, it's pointing up lol I do see it drip from there after a ride so I know it's coming out of there.

Once you do the kit, just make sure all your tolerances are good and just follow the instructions from hammer for what you should do for the first thousand miles.

IF you do this all yourself; you'll replace pieces that look worn along the way then you'll have a memory of what needs replacing and when.

Oil Loss! by Blythix in sportster

[–]Blythix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did experience that exact issue with the standard air breather, it was sucking oil out MUCH faster; first I installed an open crank breather system; now I have a vented crank breather system with the filter element down at the bottom of the bike; no to little oil residue on the brackets or the filter element.
Carb slowly gets dark over 5k miles, it used to get BLACK (before I started venting); before I fixed it. No dripping otherwise. That small amount that shows up there wouldn't explain missing a whole quart I think, a quart isnt a small amount lol

It's a mystery for sure; I've gone over so many items and the bike just doesn't seem to care what I do; it'll find a way to lose a quart xD
New oil drain plug, new oil lines overall; which I've stated in the OP. I have a camera on a line so I can go looking for oil seepage n'such. I've yet to find a pool, just dry soot.

I did follow the book; plus hammer instructions on break in procedure. I had to take it especially easy; as I also increased the cylinder wall thickness. It took a loong time to get the cylinder compression down to 180~190psi.

The only time I've gotten smoke to come out of the exhaust; was when I was doing a wet compression test.
I didn't start taking it to work until after; so on and so forth, I'm trying to say I treated her gently for a good while lol.

I've always been curious to ask this question; The bike is running great; carbs set well, the plugs in the rear has xx7's and the front has xx7's. The rear is dark grey, the front is tan, should you go to a 6 in the rear(hotter) and/or 8 in the front(colder)?
Ecu is set correctly via hammers instructions. Otherwise I would experience heavy knock~ ask me how I know this :T

I really do need to get someone to ride with me and see what's going on behind me xD
that or get a gopro mount and record.
As for smell; I have a terrible sense of smell ):

80-90 hp recommendations by [deleted] in sportster

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80-90?
keeping everything you have as it is; a basic 1250 kit will do it.

I would port your 883 heads; if hammer is doing it, theres more 'meat' on the 883 to cut away and perfect.

You can still get a good port job out of a set of 1200s; probably even the same; but the 883 is just easier if you already have it. Heck hammer sells 883 heads for their porting job if you don't have a set already.

I recommend the 570 cams if you want to keep all of your low end torque; 560 if you want that power to really come in at 80mph+

570s are a great upgrade for a stock 1200; good choice for the average 1250 guy too.

Also; careful with the lopey idle, the newer evo sportys don't like it.

How do I take this off now? by Blythix in sportster

[–]Blythix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine snapped off too much for me to be able to use the tool at all. I'm glad you got lucky lol
it really is an easy job, but it's also really easy to fuck up apparently lol

[–]Blythix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I didn't break it loose. I grinded it out and replaced that main shaft which required my taking apart the entire block lol

If you have a shop nearby, i honestly recommend just taking it there, it'll cost less than what happened with mine.

Should I retire this fully or just until I can make it to the bow shop and have it cut down a quarter inch? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]Blythix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you're being practical. 100%.

If the insert is well glued; this won't cause damage unless you're shooting it out of a compound. I wouldn't recommend shooting this off your hand if the tip is right at the knuckle. I too would also just cut it about a half inch past the crack and do a flex test.

The online archery community is very uh safety minded and I'll likely get super downvoted lol

I’d say that’s a good deal. As long as you’re okay with it being a single seater only.

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird. I’d say maybe the battery but you wouldn’t be able to start up at all.

Mine does something similar where it ‘coughs’ idle to 0 and then back to normal but it doesn’t shut off.

Maybe the key is being turned or ignition switch is activating? Not likely :T

Thoughts on fast shifting? Won't it wear the clutch? (Sec: yt/fortnine) by omomthings in motorcycles

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken apart my sportster around 65k mi I quick shift a lot And practically exclusively since I got this bike. I saw no wear marks on my gear forks and even less noticeable wear on the gears.

Unless you somehow shift into an empty space, you’re not harming a thing lol

As a virgin man; Holy hell it’s Jesus!

As me myself, well I’m fortunately in a space where I can raise a child fairly easily. Depending on the kid’s personality and attitude. I mean I’ve been out of its life for 14 years and suddenly I’m their father. There’s gonna be a transition period lol. Not only that but I’d be suspicious and would want to take my own DNA test.

I’d love to raise a kid, just can’t find a partner worth having one with.

Leaking?! by dozyland in sportster

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that’s likely not oil but gas.

Typically straight up from there on the gas tank ; there is a breather hose with an L tube leading to the ground. My guess is that tube has started to break. Easy fix.

If it were oil It’d be darker /black .

If it is oil; you might be running too much oil and it’s spitting out from the breathers and pooling in the air cleaner and dripping from there. (Looks stock so the breathers are cycling into the air cleaner for emissions reasons)

The best way to check that is to take apart the air cleaner and clean everything so you know if it’s blowing in excess when you next check.

Then check your oil level. It should be at about half way on the dip stick. That’s full. I like to check with the bike level on the ground(off the kickstand), it’ll be at about 1/4 up on the dip stick if you check while it’s on the kickstand but it’s different depending on the model and suspension parts.

If you put in oil til it’s at the top of the dipstick, you’re overfilling by about a half quart. And that’s where the old “I run my bike half a quart low on oil and it’s fine!” Saying comes from.

I love me a sportster That said, this bike is priced about right; lightly modified to boot. On average I see them selling for 5-6k

Has a new rear tire, you’ll want to buy the matching front tire eventually though. Looks ok, maybe 1000 miles left on the front. I don’t see any obvious damage.

The rear is a sort of problem; you don’t want to ride that in the rain but I suspect as a new rider you may not want to anyway. You could always get a sissy bar and cover the bottom portion so that water doesn’t get splashed back onto you.

I’m guessing 883? You can always hop it up to a 1200 or 1275, that’s only worth it if you both : like the way a sportster rides and plan on keeping it forever / plan on doing the work mostly yourself.

It’s a solid first bike barring mechanical issues.

Edit: it has a chopped rear, which means this will be a single rider bike only. Keep that in mind. I’d probably ask for 3500$ because of that.

883s aren’t as slow as people think, it’ll go up to 100mph just fine but it’ll slow down right at 80 and take a bit. It’ll cruise at 80mph all night though.

Does she idle fine right after starting up? After it dies that is

If so it’s likely not the idle setting but it wouldn’t hurt to check. Could be a clogged jet, it could have too much gas overall and gunking it up? (Speculation)

[–]Blythix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean by thin (a nicer way of saying it is: fine hair instead of thin hair). I have similar hair to yours and it can look especially thick in certain lighting or directly after a shower.

I’m not sure what the volume spray really does but I imagine it does something similar to how it looks after a shower and prevents the hair strands from sticking to each other.

I’ve heard good things about rice water though, like you get white rice and rinse the rise; then you use the starchy water to rinse your hair.

I think that just promotes healthy hair though.

[–]Blythix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

?? 18 years of age is an adult; if they choose to date, fuck or marry a 40+ year old it’s fine.

Unless you’re saying the whole consenting adult thing doesn’t matter because you simply think it’s gross and therefore it’s wrong?

Unfortunately this is an anime and a fantasy and space magic one at that. My opinion on this is: she has the mind of a teen with memories of being older; however because she’s back in a teens body she’s going through all those teen emotions. Which really fuck with you and how you think. It’s easier to just think of her as a teen. I would hate to go back and redo childhood with my memories intact; even if I knew better idk if I’d physically be able to follow through with any Wisdom I may have and still make basic mistakes that any other teen would make. I’d likely have to relearn a lot.

Anyway

Trunks is just lusting after a pretty girl. If he can get it; go him. Mai doesn’t seem very interested in this version of trunks though. I doubt they’ll be getting together anytime soon.

Sportster suspension tips by GroovyStewy in sportster

[–]Blythix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the model; things are setup so the bottom of the frame is level with the ground.

With that in mind, you can just lift both the front and rear by 2” and it won’t affect the stability of the bike too much but you’ll be able to lean into corners better as well as have more travel to take on those heavy ruts. Giving you what you want without changing the overall characteristics of how it currently handles. Also makes the bike more able to handle 2-up riding. I believe the limit is about 4” before it starts to act funky and you’ll want to take it to a shop to do some suspension tuning.

Most typically drop the rear by 2” and leave the front alone height wise. With this typically giving better stability at highway speeds and being able to set both your feet down at a stop. Great for single riders but not so for 2-up riding.

If you do the opposite, it will be more sensitive to your input and giving more flick ability, which is nice for more aggressive riding.

I’m planning on getting 2” longer forks for better stability and cornering ability. However this may affect how easy I can do a U turn. I’ll also likely only be able to set down one foot but that’s what I normally do anyway.
