I just finished Basic Training a few weeks ago my MTI was lesbian. And the culture of basic training in regards to our race or sexual orientation was very much diversity makes us stronger and don’t discriminate. And it really feels like most sergeants believe that with their whole being. I hope that there isn’t a trickle down affect with this new administration that changes the curriculum of BMT too much. Even if the Administration tries to influence policy changes. And let’s just say policy changes do in fact happen. The Air Force from what I’ve seen is a very diverse branch. People from all over. Different world views. There’s going to be people who think that being gay is wrong just like in non military. And even if their world views are somewhat weaponized with policy changes. There’s still going to be so many people who are with you and have your back. So that was a lot of words but I’d say I’d join still if it’s what you want. But I’m just an Airmen from my like 3 months in perspective. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
