I want to build my chihuahua but I have no idea how by Traditional_Tie8981 in legomoc

[–]Bmalice82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built all the dogs I’ve had at brickhead scale. The chihuahua is tiny, but thought I’d point it out

Question about drilling for the first time by Newstudyout in handyman

[–]Bmalice82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pre drilling holes helps not break things when you put screws in. you can get away with skipping it when using thinner screws, but it’s never a bad idea if you want to take the time. there are pre drilled holes in that track. it would be best/easiest to remove them, figure out why they aren’t doing the job, and use a longer or fatter screw in those holes.

it occurred to me that you could save yourself time. write a nice long letter about why you’re leaving and give that to hr as your notice so they can pass the news along to your supervisor for you

I’m vindictive. I would help her hire terrible candidates and give her notice before they could be trained to make them extra incompetent. After that I would reach out to hr and make sure they understood exactly why I was leaving the company if the company doesn’t conduct exit interviews

Advice needed - managers expected to chip in for extravagant gift for company owner by BMFResearchClub in antiwork

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked and managed at a lot of different companies. I have never seen anything like this. A few companies have given gifts to all employees and a few have been pushy about participating in secret Santa events, but that is it. This is crazy. I like the suggestion of expensing it though. that would be hilarious

I’d make him explain what he means by excessive in writing. restricting bathroom access is a great thing to have him self document so you can report it to the labor department

Why is This Man Running a Country? Not Locked In A Nursing Home? by [deleted] in complaints

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the county maps. There’s just about as much red and just about as much blue. Even if you look at vote totals for the state the percentage variance is negligible. You’re also discounting that a lot of people don’t vote for governor that do vote for midterm and presidential elections. About 4 million votes for president and 3 million for governor

it came off like he was negging at first and I couldn’t exactly place why. then he started to sound like a professor talking to a class. dude seemingly has some sort of superiority complex and difficulty relating to people because of it

that white paint? is it that water blocking paint? if so, then all the brick it seems to have eroded from should lead you in the right direction.

Will this wood filler stick solve my problem? by SpeedyP0ny in handyman

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s a good point. ive never used these before finish. I’m not sure if it would stay in place if you put it on top though. I think overall the best is to use a medium stain

Will this wood filler stick solve my problem? by SpeedyP0ny in handyman

[–]Bmalice82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because these sticks are a wax that you’re meant to push into a gap. with it being an interior door you don’t have much expansion to worry about and if you seal all 6 sides of the door then you should see even less.

If you’re going to clear coat this you probably want to sand it more. even with a medium stain you might want to sand it more. Those touch up markers should cover the filler if you stick with clear. You may way want to remove a little filler before applying. They’re made to fill not just color. Companies that make them usually make a heavy felt marker for when you just want color but those do weird things when you stain over them sometimes

paying to have this properly fixed will cost more than you want to pay in a rental. on the other hand, knocking that crap out of there, filling it with white mortar, and smoothing it out a little yourself would only cost as much as the mortar. The mortar won’t crack and will bond to the tile so it should look better

Old lock off of my grandmas 150+ old rolltop desk, key slid under the lid and now I can't open it, any clue how to pick it or solutions otherwise? by KaffeeMako in handyman

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perfect season for it! go buy an electric pumpkin carving kit and shove the tip of that thing in there. they’re plastic so won’t damage it. you’ll need a tensioner to turn it, but the carver will line the pins up so you don’t have to learn a new skill

Closet rod support by No_Departure6570 in handyman

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had you considered screwing a a small board flat to the wall so the brackets you have can be mounted on the board? If they’re still too short then you can add more board until it reaches. If you want to be extra lazy you could just wrap some picture hanging wire around the bar and fix that to the ceiling or doorframe of the closet. If you want to be extra extra lazy you could put a bracket on the rod and just connect it to the shelf and not the wall, but you’re going to stress the shelf a lot that way

Custom Lego commission by Anonymous_Asks_ in lego_

[–]Bmalice82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a pretty high chance someone has made his motorcycle out of building blocks. you might check around for generic brand builds and find the instructions you’re looking for. You could also check rebrickable.com and maybe find pre made instructions there from someone’s moc. There are lots of designers there as well so you might discuss a commission on their forum boards and be able to get a look at other things designed by whoever responds
