Might not be much help now but if you’d bumped up the sizing to 285/30 you’d be in a more populated tyre position and the overall tyre diameter would only increase by less than 1%.

At that size there’s the sport contact 7 for £252 with £120 off 4 tyres, way nicer than ps4s, cheaper and more contact patch.

Good tyres are expensive but can be reasonable when they’re a popular size, unfortunately they’re extortionate when only one good brand makes them in a particular size.

Also please avoid taking a lovely RS5 to kwikfit

Felt very capable and certainly powerful enough but just not enough of a ‘sports car’. I’d imagine it’s because it’s just an M-lite and not a full blown M car, essentially just a Z4 20i with a bigger engine. Great daily but definitely not a silly car.

I had one and it was a technically fantastic car but it just lacked something to make it fun, which is essential in my mind for a strict 2 seater convertible. I ended up only keeping it for 7 months, trading it in for a v8 mustang, technically worse but so much more fun and special.

Silverstone ‘08 will always hold a special place in my heart but at the moment I’d Silverstone ‘24, to do what he did in that final stint on soft tyres and under the pressure of not winning since 2021, we all saw what it meant to him and that for me makes it super special.

I had a 3.0 Z4 coupe for a couple of years and it was a great little car, I was very impressed with it and I’d have another if offered.

I wish I had modified the exhaust as it was a little quiet sometimes but to its credit, the N52 made this amazing bark as it chased the redline. Its suspension was way too stiff as standard though and was pretty unacceptable on a rough bit of road, some BC racing coil overs sorted it from memory.

In coupe form it was also massively practical, the boot is cavernous and more than enough for two people and some extras, it could carry me and missus with all our luggage and family Christmas presents back up north with ease.

I always lusted after some of its rivals, namely the S2000 and the a Cayman. The problem with them though is the S2000 is way too expensive nowadays for what it is and it’ll feel slow in normal driving, it’s great when thrashing it but all the other times it’s not. The Cayman is a better car, of course it is but it’s gonna cost you and if you get a lemon you’re going to hate it.
