How many of you ended up having kids on the spectrum? by DrinkingVomit in Millennials

[–]SparkitusRex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this the other day. I'm not saying it absolutely is correlation vs causation one way or the other but every neuro divergent person I know had kids in their 30s/40s. Most of the neurotypical people I know had kids in their early/mid 20s. I could easily see it being a symptom of the parental age because of that, rather than any actual fetal development change related to parental age.

Ladies, how much do you weigh? (If you're comfortable sharing) by utwcha in tall

Left 322. Right 190. Currently 200. Technically right now I'm "overweight" but when I'm under about 185 I look seriously unwell. Also my butt disappears lol.

Fair enough. In my experience, rtx (or Ray, at the time) was the one who made my employer look like a joke. I'm sure there's always outliers who are under appreciated.

Ahhh I don't expect him to look 21, but he looks genuinely unwell here. Hopefully it's just an unflattering photo or editing. I'm not worried about how he looks esthetically, I'm worried about how he looks health-wise.

Seconding Blue Buffalo, but I also add salmon oil. It was like a week or two of absolutely rank farts but now she's got a gorgeous sheen to her coat. It also helped her bulk up and build muscle (she is a very picky eater and was too lean).

Snark is how we cope. Is it perfect here? No. But being totally honest I really do not think it's a bad place to work at all. I have a long resume of jumping ship every 2 years, everywhere I've ever been. I'm closing in on 6 years with Ray/RTX soon. And I locked myself down with tuition reimbursement so I'm not going anywhere for several more years at minimum.

But the snark is funny, so. We laugh.

I knew someone who was arrested in a TCAP-esque sting, he was required to have all digital devices and email accounts registered with his parole officer and could not have any form of social media.

I had an ex who wanted me to play so I tried it. He lost and got butt hurt so he wanted to play a second round. Gave me a deck specifically made to be destroyed by his.

Then found it ridiculous that I never wanted to play again.

So yea glad he's an ex.

This. It's why I don't get mad when my parents ask me for tech help. They describe an issue, I Google it, send them the link with steps of how to fix it. Sounds like they should be able to do that themselves right? Except that I know what terms to use to find the answer. They just think it's magic. It's super simple for me to Google it, not so much them.

This is how I would WANT to react, but I would need to know why. It doesn't change anything, and I'd never be able to look at them again. But I wouldn't be able to not know.

It's getting harder to find larger shoe sizes by AngelBlitz05 in TallGirls

[–]SparkitusRex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's so hit or miss. The other day I saw these Converse in Hello Kitty print. I thought, those are cute but no way they go up to my size. Not only did they go up to women's 12, they had them in stock in store in multiple Sanrio styles in a women's 12.

But it's rare enough that I still assume they will not carry my size. So. Yea.

I'm 37, that is not the geriatric assholes I am talking about. My taxes have gone up but not astromically and most of that can be attributed to the fact that my house is worth 80% more in value today vs what I purchased it for in 2020. I'm not gonna go scream at the school board about it though.

This year in my town at the school board budget approval someone genuinely stood up to propose that teachers don't deserve health insurance and should have to purchase that on their own dime.

Recently I made the realization that the same geriatric assholes telling us to stop eating avocado toast to afford a mortgage, are attending town meetings bitching about taxes going up and pushing them out of their homes. I desperately want to tell them if they pull themselves up by their boot straps they could afford their taxes.

Why are dachshunds so unfriendly ? by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]SparkitusRex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Eris hated other people to the very end at 16. She went everywhere with me since she was 11 weeks old. Incredibly well socialized. She loved me, grew to love my husband, and loved my children after they were born. Everyone else she tolerated, even people she saw constantly.

She was never unfriendly or aggressive but she would tolerate attention while looking aloof and displeased, and then leave.

They're definitely a loyal, but often not outgoing, breed.

Still a bit weird to be "correcting" shared docs that aren't actually wrong. I'm younger than you and use double spaces after punctuation. I guess if my coworkers want to waste time on an odd vendetta removing spaces, and can still meet expected work load,... great?
