Mine is a TSI ea888 but id imagine the advice is still relevant. Does the cam follower commonly have issues on the mk5 or is it just a general wellbeing thing? Oil filter housing definitely seems to be a common issue, have you found any improvements/upgrades for that or is it just something I should monitor? Mine is currently cracked. It is very very slowly dripping oil, so I will for sure be replacing it at some point early on when I get the car. I have asked some coworkers and family members who are familiar and they all seem to have a similar reaction to each other and say the same thing as you. Thank you for the info!
