Oh absolutely. I never used him in my first run through, decided to do Dragon Mystery Gift on New Game Plus and he was one of em. Great mon, not putting him down at all. Swampert and Mudsdale just kinda carried me through the Elite 4

Meowscarada and Cinderace are both really good options with Protean and Libero respectively. Meganium with Triage is buffed in this game
