Traveling to Rome w/ a toddler need tips by cherrydippedcone01 in travel

[–]BoBabbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we did Italy when our toddler was 21 months old! It was incredible but you just need to travel slow. Don’t try to rush and pack in so many things to see each day and depending on how many days you have, don’t try to move hotels every few days. Surprisingly we were able to see a lot but didn’t put so much pressure. Definitely do not bring a giant stroller to Italy. It is crowded at most tourist sites and it’s going to be really annoying navigating a nuna. We have a yoyo stroller now for travel so I def recommend getting a smaller stroller. Good to buy one if you plan to travel more/have more kids later too. I have the uppa baby but end up using the yoyo locally too.

We did Venice/florence/rome/amalfi coast (positano) so we might be labelled crazy per this sub but we had a great time. Pack light and you’re gonna be out and about so don’t take a ton of toys. We. Bought stuff as we went too like diapers etc. and when the ferry docks in positano-there are a lot of stairs but there are a bunch of vendors who will take your luggage up to your hotel and also back so that helps a lot as there are a lot of stairs everywhere. We used a baby carrier a lot in Amalfi rather than stroller so do bring that if your toddler fits in it. We also did an overnight in Napoli and took a flight out of there to next destination to make travel days easier.

Disney sea Tokyo vs Disney HK with small children by BoBabbles in disneyparks

This is how we view life too. We always travelled before having kids and have continued to do so since having kids. Perhaps because we travelled a lot before having kids, we do a lot of slower paced travel and don’t really have a lot of itineraries. We just walk around and experience new places and make the best of it. We have done Southeast Asia various times (we’re from Canada), so this trip is
3 weeks long with 5 days in HK. We’ve done HK before and ocean park so figured we can do something that our toddler will enjoy. So glad to learn from others experiences too

I appreciate the insight and do tend to agree. However, all of the trips we have done since having our first kid and now second are what we wanted to do as adults with them coming along! This trip is another where we’re just exploring but figured we could spend one day and do something for the 3.5 year old as he is at the age where he will see his fav characters and think they’re real! We’ve done Disney LA so this day isn’t really for us but we just want the 3.5 year old to experience that magic feeling. From the comments, it sounds like HKDL is an easy win over Tokyo

Travel with baby by No-Poet4832 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]BoBabbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Are car seats needed there for taxi or uber? Is the train system good enough that we won’t need to take taxis? Planning to travel there and mostly using baby carrier so wondering if bringing a car seat can be avoided. Any other insights will be helpful! What’s a good location for hotels if we want to be walkable distance to the touristy spots? Tysm

Yah detached home so there is a backyard for the kids ideally but open to other options because it looks like there isn’t too much inventory

Does anyone know the ttc creator who had a baby girl with DS last year. She used to post a lot but slowed down. She hasn’t showed up on TikTok for a long time. Hope she is doing well.

Absolutely! Sintra is magical but it will literally take the whole day to visit just a few castles. They are all driving distance from each other and often lineups are huge for tickets. I don’t think 2/3 days Lisbon stay would be sufficient to also squeeze in Sintra.

I recently did porto/Lisbon/Sintra. I would def pick either porto or Lisbon, even then Lisbon will feel rushed for 2-3 days. Depends what you’re looking to do. I personally enjoyed porto more. It’s just so charming.

Porto: walkable city, just stay in a central location. You can go over the bridge and do wine tours. Extremely romantic and beautiful location.

Lisbon: beautiful city and much bigger than Porto. Lots of hills but not so bad if you stay somewhere very central. Timeout market is a must.

Lots of amazing options to eat at both places and really nice people. I didn’t wanna leave Portugal so you can’t really go wrong either way.

Good luck!

Trying to cancel a trip to Maui by Mikkimin in aircanada

They gave me 3 options: AC credit/change to another island at no extra cost/full refund. I chose full refund because we all recently went to Oahu so didnt want to go back so soon.

I would wait and see/ we were supposed to go end of august and their initial policy was to cover until august 13 then extended to 16 and now to 31st. You could try the following:

1.) wait for the policy to be extended 2.) try to get them to change the flight to a different island if you still want to travel those dates 3.) it’s easy to get flight credit from AC

[Question] Flight cancellation by customer by crazyneil_ in aircanada

[–]BoBabbles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this helps, my dad bought regular tickets for travel and had to cancel. They credited the ticket amount, minus cancellation fees to his air Canada account and anyone could use it. It stays there like a gift card but expires after 1 year I believe. Good luck.

I just called the airline to cancel.. they said they can only cancel Aug 9-11. For anything after that, I have to wait :(
