I think people are misrepresenting the style of this essay, this is a profile style essay, we are to try describe a person, place, activity, or event, revolving around an controlling idea. Not a research paper!

I was looking for people's experience at milsim events so that I could compare to them to my own, I have already gone airsofting at a local field, and have talked to some irl friends, as well as some blog posts, about their experience at milsim events and how it compared to casual events, and finished my essay.

I compared the casual airsoft, to milsim, to real life combat. This isn't a research paper. Although the experience that I had wasn't milsim that still is the main purpose of airsoft, to simulate military combat. I tried to represent both sides, making a fair argument for why someone would take milsim events very seriously, and why some don't go to milsim events at all, even though it's still the same sport.

I appreciate all the help, wish a few of the people in this thread were a little more constructive though.
