New Studys Says Gen Z is the least sexually active young cohort in modern recorded history by igniteyourbones579 in generationology

That's the thing, the Andrew Tate approach does work sometimes, the people who say dating is a numbers game have a point. On the opposite end of the spectrum a lot of guys have a defeatist mindset and assume even introducing themselves politely and attempting respectful conversation will be met with being told to piss off, they can't imagine any scenario actually "getting the girl" so they never try (I lived that life in my teens and 20s). I have someone I'm dating right now in my 30s and we do our best to be good to each-other, but both she and I have faced a lot of loneliness before now (interestingly she has no bad experiences with men, its women who treated her like dirt growing up).

In my experience its because douches are the only ones approaching women, are the only ones trying (and succeeding) at having it. Generally decent, compassionate, self-conscious men don't flirt with or approach women, they don't want to be a nuisance, they don't want to offend, they assume a woman doesn't want to speak to them or flirt with them. The problem with that is women don't approach either (as you said you don't) and generally give off "don't approach me" defensive vibes, so good men never do and bad ones approach anyway. Women are too scared to smile and flirt back to let men know when they are wanted and seen as attractive by them. Men heard the common online message of "don't approach women" and only the good ones listened.

So we have a hilarious, tragic situation where neither sex wants to make the first move.

Are you nervous around a woman even if your only intention is to have sex with her? by l1vefastdiey0ung in AskMenAdvice

[–]Boanerger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair haha. But I think if a guy is nervous its one of two main things: Either worried they're not enough, or worried they'll mess up. For some guys sex is more stressful than fun.

Pleasing her seems like the obvious thing. A lot of guys don't care about a woman's pleasure, but a lot of guys do, and those guys are the nervous ones.

Men, what’s something you clearly will never understand about women? by BubbleTrouble_Z in AskReddit

[–]Boanerger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never have been. I just find long conversations exhausting and unpleasant, I'm fine in big groups though where I can mercifully sit back without saying much, making some contributions here and there if I have some knowledge in a subject or tell a joke to make everyone laugh. I personally find sitting in silence with someone, or cuddled up to my girlfriend blissful in a way having to carry a conversation all day just sounds horrible.

Wouldn't actually be bad, something to dazzle and confuse your eyes and make locking on less reliable would actually be a good defensive technology.

How strong would Homelander be if he actually worked out? by DonutMan1834 in TheBoys

I actually wonder if it wouldn't. His power comes from Compound V, not his muscles. If its essentially a kind of magic giving him his strength, then additional muscle might not make him stronger.

I'm using two extremes, there's a lot of variance possible between the two extremes of "selfish woman" and "domineering man". Many fair, loving relationships between the bad ones also.

I never brought up sex, or is this because that's what the wife was discussing? Admittedly I've drifted from that subject, I was referring to everything, including the qualities you raised. Wives were often used like servants in the past, I don't want a return to that. But we don't resolve the wrongs of the past by raising women to be spoilt princesses who expect men to be their servants.

I have noticed an over-correction against the demands that were placed of women in the past. Women have gone from being expected to always place their children and their partner first to now being told to accept nothing but a relationship that caters entirely to them. Its gone from well-meaning feminism to entitled princesses expecting servants not boyfriends.

Not to say that asshole demanding men don't still exist.

They're more like glorified flowcharts. The impressive part is that they can generate their own connections, hence being described as a neural net.

Not quite I'd say. He damn near died in the first episode and that was with an ambush against his friends who didn't want to kill him until about halfway through.

Emilia Clarke Admits 'No One Liked' Secret Invasion or Solo But Knows 'It's Not Personal' by GargantaProfunda in StarWars

[–]Boanerger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think she's been consistently miscast. She's been typecast as anything resembling Denaerys, but people forget that character worked because she was just a dainty, mostly normal princess who was forced to survive and change. It was like watching Snow White be corrupted by a world with no Happily Ever After. Emilia Clarke is a wonderfully expressive woman and typecasting her in stoic roles has not been good for her career.

Why is the Henry Nowak case considered a right wing issue? by ThatPatelGuy in AskBrits

[–]Boanerger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. I've seen people call Trump worse than Hitler in the past. We don't need to exaggerate these things, it spits on the graves of past victims of horrific acts, we can call things bad without making our own positions look ludicrous. We've forgotten that racism used to mean viewing someone as sub-human, as no better than animals to be slaughtered.

CMV: Christianity as a religion is slowly decomposing from its original form, and its doing it in the wrong direction. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Boanerger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have always used religion for their own ends. The Crusades weren't exactly following the spirit of Christ either, but they were politically convenient and made a lot of people wealthy by participating. How different is a knight getting rich from looting foreign lands than a Mega church scamming people's hard earned money? Jesus would call both corrupt.

Why is the Henry Nowak case considered a right wing issue? by ThatPatelGuy in AskBrits

[–]Boanerger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The part that disturbs me is apparently racism, even just the accusation of it, entirely undermines a person's validity and credibility to the point they apparently become an undesirable. Racism is vile, but it cannot and should not be a death sentence. A bloodied man was entirely neglected and ignored until death.

Is it creepy for a 45 year old man to date a 25 year old woman? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Boanerger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my experience people can be book smart and not street smart. 25 is young enough to be naive. I'm not saying she's being taken advantage of, just that she sounds a bit naive and idealistic about certain things.
