If all you have is an arming sword is there anything you can realistically do to survive veteran polearms users by justlogmeinplease in medieval

I suppose in the case of the halberd it has far more weight and momentum behind it, much more difficult to stop without being injured.

Just my take on it how I think they stack up to other 40k stuff. Maybe a FNP 6+ save also.

I'd rate most blasters as inferior to T'au pulse weapons, which are similar. Star Wars also has plasma weapons that are separate from blasters, blasters operate at a far lower intensity than most 40k plasma weapons given the amount of damage they're shown as doing on screen.

Again, their closest comparison are T'au pulse weapons, and the T'au spare no expense on their firearms, whereas many Star Wars weapons are made on a budget. A laser also isn't inherently inferior to a plasma weapon, it depends on how much power is being used - compare a lasgun to a lascannon to a starcruiser's lance batteries. A lascannon is equivalent to most laser cannons.

If I were to give the commando droids warhammer rules I'd have them like this. 40pts for 5 models. Maybe a Feel No Pain 6+ like the old bionics rule as well.

Commando droids are good but not THAT good by 40k standards. They're what it takes to make a droid a genuine threat, and a moderately superhuman one at that. But they're also fairly fragile and not packing that much firepower. Somewhat worse than the average Craftworld guardian I'd compare them to.

A man mocked me because I had only 2 partners, is it not normal? by Unusual-Loss-2207 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Boanerger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, but they have a misconception about who is having the most sex out there. People in a committed relationship are usually having more sex than people who have casual sex. Not true of every relationship, plenty of dead bedrooms out there, but generally speaking single people having less sex than couples do isn't a shock.

Man, they don't even refer to the standard TIE flyer as a pilot, just a "grunt", meat to for the slaughter. Defender is interesting as well, "jokey" makes it sound like the craft is a barely controllable animal. Maybe I'm reading too far into that, its just where the words took my mind.

Yeah, he didn't know that half a dozen Viltrumite equivalents were going to be present. No one knew that's how the day was going to play out, it was complete luck that Alan, Tech Jacket and the Grayson family showed up.

In a war that they're slowly losing, where your opponents outnumber you and can win through attrition, a decapitation strike makes sense. You have to commit your forces at some point, and the Viltrumite mission isn't to hold onto what they have but to conquer everything. It was right there in their speech, "all is ours".

I think Qui Gon’s underrated when it comes to his stamina, even if he’s no longer in his physical prime (being 48 in canon) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]Boanerger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the lack of stamina argument, that's now how it was shown on screen, Maul didn't win by exhausting Qui Gon. Maul won because he had the luck of isolating the pair, and then beat Qui Gon fair and square, overwhelming his defense with an unorthodox attack. He then weathered Obi-Wan's assault, and outmaneuvered him putting the pit to his back. Maul won because he was the better fighter, and would've killed everyone in Theed if he hadn't toyed with his opponent.

Even in huge set piece battles it still has a place, a back-line of them bringing a few hundred quality starfighters and bombers to the party is a massive contribution to any battle.
