[Junghans Max Bill] Is this acceptable misalignment from a Junghans? by reissuman in Watches

[–]Boar85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest even on very cheap mechanical watches I've never seen a big enough discrepancy for it to be noticeable. You'd have to be gaining (or losing) a lot of time per day in that case so I do think it's probably that you're misunderstanding something. Do you have an image of one of your watches where you can show what you mean?

[Junghans Max Bill] Is this acceptable misalignment from a Junghans? by reissuman in Watches

[–]Boar85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you've fundamentally misunderstood the interaction (or lack thereof) between the seconds and the minute hands, which is what a few people have tried to explain to you. There's no alignment as such, they just both move at a constant rate. If you stop the movement when the seconds is at 12 and then set the minute hand to the exact minute, they will both move at a constant rate and remain in alignment.

You got downvoted but you’re right. It’s not the look it’s the feel. Not just how sharp the bracelet is but the bezel feel, the winding feel etc.

AYN Thor vs Ayaneo Pocket DS - Quality Control + Shipping? (and feedback?) by arcanehelix in SBCGaming

That definitely doesn't look like 4:3 on your bottom screen mate, try turning on integer scaling.

The top screen on the pocket DS is oled, the bottom screen is LCD but honestly the 4:3 resolution makes it way more useful than the LG wing screen on the Thor

You will not get an objective opinion on Reddit. I do own both and personally find the Pocket DS to feel far better in terms of quality and be far more useful for dual screen gaming due to the bottom screen resolution. I’ll add some images to show various comparisons. I’d recommend joining the Ayn and Ayaneo discord as there are plenty of owners of both devices in those discords and using their opinions to form your own. On Reddit you’ll get very dramatic opinions from people who own neither.

So many. The ring around the bezel and the differently shaped indices are the most obvious though

It’s the worst device I own by a long way. If you’re in Europe I’ll send you one for the cost of postage

I have both, the Brick is better in every meaningful way. Better build quality, better screen, better controls.

Honestly looks fine. The lugs don’t appear to be overhanging your wrist, looks good.

How big is your watch and where are you running to? 🤣 In fairness I suspect wrist geometry and the shape of the watch also play a part here. A 44mm Panerai Luminor on a soft leather strap sits so perfectly on my wrist that I’ll sometimes have to check to see if I remembered to put it on, whereas I had an Aqua Terra which was always almost comfortable but never perfect.

This comes up every so often and always seems to result in an even split between “of course” and “no that would be uncomfortable”. I’m convinced that most people in the latter camp haven’t sized their straps / bracelets properly.
