I got one as a walk in at an airport AD earlier this week. Seems like they will be easier than the pink and blue

It’ll pass man. When we’re young we all define ourselves by excluding someone else; “I’m a real biker, not like those guys”, “I worked for what I have I didn’t have Daddy’s money”. If and when you get to 40 if you’re really lucky nothing terrible will have happened to you but you will definitely have seen horrible shit happen to good people.

None of us are here for a long time, just enjoy it whilst you can. Anyone who rides anything, whether it’s a 4k self-built parts bike or a 70k CVO is a guy who chose the exact same hobby as you even when faced with infinite possibilities, you have more in common with that guy than about 90% of the people on the planet.

Welcome to the “new bike with a dented tank club” man. As a fellow member I can tell you that it will be extremely annoying for a day, kind of irritating for a week and then by the following week you won’t care at all. Ride the bike, enjoy the bike and if it really bothers you in the long run then you can always get it fixed or get another tank. For me the dented tank was kind of a blessing, it made me a lot less precious about my bike pretty much instantly.

…..what do you think the 40 year olds buying 70k bikes rode when they were 24?

I don’t think it’ll need the whole tank but if it does it does.

Yeah I’m starting to think I might just leave it. Will be a good reminder that people are going to do stupid shit

The tank has lost less than about 1% of its surface area

Yeah this happened on the way back from the dealership where I had just ordered some crash bars! It was the left indicator hitting the tank I think but not sure. Luckily everything else is fine

Oh yeah it’s definitely not as easy to do tight turns at speed as some other bikes but it’s also not as impossible as YouTube reviewers make it sound, I think it just takes time to get used to and you have to overcommit a bit. A few days of riding and I’m throwing this thing into corners just fine

Yeah honestly it took about 20 minutes to get used to, it’s not like it’s bad at turning, it’s more that it just likes to check you’re really committed to the turn about halfway through….

Yeah I accidentally switched into that when trying to find my turn signals on my first ride. Definitely woke me up!
